Timeline
We received an RFE for our AOS (I-485) August 2014 (Nebraska office) and still haven't heard anything.

What should we do? We've contacted our Senator. We've called USCIS to open a case to look into our file since it was past 60 days. It has been 90 days since we filed a case for them to investigate.

This is very frustrating because we want to travel back to Canada so my daughter can visit her grandmother. I know we can still travel because we have the travel document (advanced parole) but we do not want to risk it and not travel until my husband has his green card.

Any ideas on why we haven't heard anything? Has anyone experienced the same thing? Is there anything else we can do?

Does it matter that we live in Houston and our paper work is in the Nebraska office?

Any advice would really help.

Our timeline is as follows:

December 29, 2013 – My fiancé entered to United States with a K1 Visa

January 4, 2014 – We got married

January 16, 2014 – Notice of Action for the Adjustment of Status (I-485)

June 19, 2014 - Our daughter was born

August 1, 2014 – Request for Evidence

August 22, 2014 – Request for Evidence was received by USCIS

October 21, 2014 – Filed a service request to look into our case since it was past 60 days since our RFE

Make an Infopass appointment to try and find out your case status and hold up. If that does not work, contact the Ombudsman and your congressperson. http://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance

~ Moved from AOS from Family Based main forum to Progress Reports sub-forum - topic is case status ~

Im assuming you received your EAD card with your AP? I have travelled with an AP card and had no problems whatsoever. You are out of processing times now, so you need to ask for an info pass. Also I doubt your case is with Nebraska it always says that but if you do get an info pass you might find its probably at a field office. I guess you can't find out as they haven't responded to you. The last few letters of any correspondence you get will give you a clue to where your case is...... when you get correspondence that is.

You need to join our thread, it might give you a better insight. Please ask for an info pass though as you are definitely out of processing times or as the person said before get the Ombudsman involved if they dont respond to an info pass, there is no excuse for the length of time you have been waiting... none http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/452854-notice-of-potential-interview-waiver-case/page-107#entry7481290
