We received an RFE too (last week) because of the I-864 Form... Now we are waiting on the tax return from 2006..

I did get an RFE, for something I sent to begin with. It said something like, "According to your Affadavit of Support, you make sufficient income to sponsor the applicant, but you did not enclose any financial proof." (not exact wording). Ohhhh, yes I did! Anyway, I just sent it again. Next thing I heard, they sent the AOS to California.

Did anyone get an RFE especifically asking for the new tax return? I mean, that's not due till April so could they actually ask that you send that in if you submitted before?

The RFE we got today asked for " the most recent tax year " the most recent tax year is 2005 .. it does not specifically ask for 2006 .. I think if they expected that they would say so ..

Hi All.

I also got an RFE regarding the I-864 and it's way too hard to understand what it is they really want; I wish these guys would come to us with a stright ahead request.

I sent the I-864 along with W2 and 1099 and other supporting documents. Now I am preparing to send the documents again and I am wondering if I have to send an IRS transcript along with the W2 and 1099?

I included 6 months woth of paystubs like they asked. I get paid every week....yeah, that's a lot of pages.

I got the same RFE on Tuesday 2/6/07. The pink letter was so confusing, and the worst part was I sent my W2's the first time around, but then to the letter I didn't sent the complete forms showing I filled the taxs for 2005 2004, and 2003. Also the letter wanted proof of employment again. Basically a letter showing I was still employed!!

Also I sent a copy of my 2006 W2 back with the rest of the requested stuff with a note informing the USCIS that I haven't Filed my taxes for 2006 yet. (hope the USCIS doesn't mind)

I just mailed everything back on Thursday to the DHS/USCIS.

I got an RFE for the missing medical supplement, which in some countries, like Germany, you don't get unless you ask. So I went to a civil surgeon and paid a few bucks to get another one.

We got an RFE for the I-864. From what I understand I think I dated it 2006 instead of 2007 when I signed it. I just send a new one with the correct date and all the supporting documentation I sent the first time. I also added my 2006 W-2 with a note that my taxes were not filed yet.

Our RFE was also for the I864. If I were you I'd go ahead and just prepare the 2006 return if you can, but if you can't don't worry since 2005 is still technically the most recent tax year. If they want 2006 they can just wait till people have time to file!

We got an email today stating that our reply to our RFE was received and processing to our case has resumed. I guess they were ok with what we sent or we will be getting another RFE.

For the affidavit of support - quite a common one I think.

Yep - us too. I used an outdated version of the form.

Sent it all back yesterday with copies of the originals they already have (the supporting doco) and a cover letter stating that they already have the originals. Let's hope it works this time!
