Montreal US Consulate wait for VISA

You can ask, but as far as I know, unless you have a very valid reason that you NEED the visa the next day, they don't generally do next day pick up. As an alternative you can ask for delivery in Montreal itself if you don't want to go anywhere. But the visa can take several weeks.

Oh I feel bad for you:-( .... my visa is a K 1 visa so it's a bit different than yours . I checked this site to see if others with 1R-1/CR visa got theirs yet and most got them within a week or two . I don't know what else to tell you except I hope it all works out soon . This whole process just sucks. My fiancé and I live 20 mins apart . I'm in Sault ste marie Ontario and he is in Sault ste marie Michigan . We see each other almost everyday and we have to spend all this time and money on this. Wow I can't wait till it's over . Good luck to you .. Hopefully you will hear from them soon !

I'm from the Sault as well :) At least your guy lives so close! I tried to convince mine to move to Sault Michigan but hard to find work and he has a great job in South Carolina that he doesn't want to give up. Hope you are doing well with your process!

Where does it say "Issued" for visa on passport?

I am seeing many references to "Issued" when the passport is ready and is sent via Loomis by the Consulate.

But where do you see that "Issued" status?

Is it on this website: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv/ ?

I was unable to find any status there, so maybe I need to wait.

But it would be nice if anyone could confirm this.

Thanks in advance,

P.

ps: maybe my question was not clear: I had my interview and I am now waiting for the passport via Loomis.

The status will say "Issued" on this website https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

Once it says "Issued" you will get your waybill number immediately or within 5 days of your status changing.

Thanks a lot for the website!

I had to go the "Check Application Status" link on the page, but I was actually stuck at the "Immigrant Visa Case Number".

I used my number: "2015EU00*******" which is my Case number during the interview in Montreal.

However, the page says:

<<Immigrant Visa Case Number: __________

(e.g., MTL1999626025)>>

which obviously does not correspond to my case number...

No idea why I dont have a case number that follows the format "MTL....".

Did you have the same thing?

Thanks in advance,

P.

Your case type is different. that is for immigrant visas like IR1

I have no idea where you would find the information for your visa type.

Hello,

I went for my interview on the May 15th 2015 in Montreal, I was approved at the interview and was told that I would receive my passport/visa in 2-3 weeks. It has been 23 days now since my interview and still no sign of a waybill number. I also checked everywhere in my email and I have nothing from Loomis or the CSC website.

My status still says Ready. Today I messaged the Montreal US Consulate and filled out a personal inquiry form on the Canada US Embassy website. I guess all I can do is wait for a reply.

I am getting a little worried that something happened to it.

Hey Kshusha123, you've done everything that I did. You will probably get a response in a few days. It really is all you can do. I hope you receive your visa soon or at least have an update. Mine apparently had an issue printing and that's why I didn't receive it within 2 weeks. :) Don't worry, you'll receive it. If you never received a waybill number or if your status hasn't updated, then it wasn't sent. Have a nice day.

Hello TheAri!

Thank you very much for your letter. I hope to get passport sometime soon. :) Today CEAC updated the day, but not status, it is still the same Ready.

Few more days and hopefully I will get a good news! :)

Thank you very much for your support and advise! This site is very helpful!

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Ksusha123

Did u get your visa? I appeared for my Non-immigrant visa interview on 22-Jul-2015 and m waiting for more than 6 weeks. The status says Admin Processing.

The Updated date changed on 03-Sep-2015 but apart from that there is no change in status. Not sure how long I need to wait.

I am in the same boat as you.

My interview was july 21st, Ive been waiting over six weeks now and nothing. I've seen the inquiry form twice and got the same automated response. I sent an email yesterday, but I dont expect to be getting a reply until next week because of the labour day weekend. This is beyond frustrating though.

If I don't get a real response by next week I am going to get my husband to ask his local senator to intervene on our behalf and find out what is going on.

It is so frustrating.. I am staying in a hotel, going to complete 7 weeks. I tried email and phone, no other options for me to expediate or find out whts happening.

If you have other options I would suggest go for it soon.. there is nothing to lose..
