I finally got another email from the Montreal consulate this is what it said

''Good day,

We have been experiencing technical issues in issuing your immigrant visa. It looks like the issue was fixed this morning and that we will be able to print the visa today. I will let you know as soon as it is issued and sent by Loomis.

Thank you for your continued patience.

Sincerely,''

Now when I log on to the CEAC wesbite, my visa says ISSUED! Thank goodness, I was wondering how long it would take me to get my visa, it has been 33 days since my visa interview and I still do not have my visa, but now at least I know it is being printed out today and I will be receiving it soon :) Thanks for all your support and I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

If anyone does not get their visa after the specified time they told you you'd receive it and your visa status is still at Ready, contact the Montreal US Consulate ASAP, they take a few days to respond. Send them a public inquiry form using this website

http://canada.usembassy.gov/contact/public-inquiry-form.html

Thank goodness! Hopefully by this time next week you will have your visa in your hand! I am happy to know that Montreal responds in a reasonable amount of time when there is a problem. Please let us know when you hear from Loomis...it shouldn't be too long now :)!

Yes, hopefully I get it this week to be honest! I am really tired of waiting, but if I only get it next week, I guess it's not too bad. I will definitely let you know! Thanks. :D

Ari I just read your whole thread. I was getting very nervous for you. So happy for you that everything is resolved now and you have your Visa in hand. The entire journey from application to Visa is so stressful, and the wait is painful, and to finally get to that last step and the joyous approval, and then to have to wait and wait again.... unreal!!

Good luck with your POE and so happy for you! :dancing:

Hey Texas22, thank you for the kind words. It was definitely discouraging not getting my visa after the 14 days were up. I am so glad I finally have it and the wait is over! :D

Hey S2BMZ, do not wait to contact them. Mine also said Ready until I asked the USCIS about it. Go on to the http://canada.usembassy.gov/contact/public-inquiry-form.html and send them a public inquiry form asking about your visa and telling them about your situation. They told me 1-2 weeks, it took 35 days. Don't wait because they take about a week to respond.. :) Hope this helps.

Thanks TheAri, I'll send them a message. I was told to expect 1-2 weeks, which runs out tomorrow so we're getting worried! Glad you got yours figured out, I hope we can get a solution soon!

So I got a email back from them today and it changed to "Issued" within the hour, no explanation for it, I think they might have just missed mine for whatever reason. How long did it take for you to get a waybill number? I'm very confused by this whole thing!

Hey S2BMZ,

I got my waybill number the day after my visa said ''Issued'' Apparently it can take up to 5 days before you get your waybill number after it says ''issued'', I don't think you need to worry about it at this point.

My status changed for Issued on a monday and I got my waybill a wednesday night (around 9PM). My passport was at the Lachine Loomis the next morning and I picked it up the same day!

Hi

My interview will be due in a month from now.

I am just wondering if one is permitted to request for a personal visa pickup at the embassy in Montreal rather than having it delivered by Loomis service after weeks of waiting? Is there anyone who has be allowed to collect his or her visa by him self? is it okay to request for that ? I will appreciate if someone can advise.

Thank you
