Keep in mind the Consulate was closed..USA Holiday today...hopefully it wil be delivered soon

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

The status of your visa has to say ISSUED before they send it to you . When you check your status dose it say nonimmigrant visa on the top and issued under it ? DOS (Department of State) check visa status .

This how my status went :

January 30th - during interview " Aministrative Processing" (immigrant visa)

January 30th to Feb. 3 - "Ready" (immigrant visa)

Feb. 4th - Administrative Processing ( changed to non-immigrant visa)

Feb. 12th - ISSUED

Feb. 13th - emails from loomis and embassy

Hi Marebear500 - I had my interview on Feb 10th and CEAC switched to issued right away. Later that day I logged into usvisa site and found that they updated the site, and I had to re-register. I still haven't heard a thing. Checked both sites and to look at the usvisa site, it just says that my interview is / was Feb 10th. CEAC still says ISSUED. Getting a little nervous.

Sorry TheAri for hijacking your thread. I am thinking that things went a little hinky after the update. I just went over all the info for the consulate and it's pretty crappy that we have no recourse, or no way of contact with them except email. I guess all you really can do is wait. I don't understand why your CEAC status would read READY, unless it goes to that after ISSUED, I am getting more confused by their inconsistency now. I am wondering if there is a backlog forming, but it wouldn't explain your long wait and others after you receiving their visas.

I am going to follow this..

That's so weird, I have read a lot of posts on here saying that the website that updates you on your waybill number is sometimes unreliable. Hopefully we both get our passports/visa back this week! I wouldn't be so stressed out if it weren't for the fact that I was told only 1-2 weeks... I've read that some people actually went to the Loomis pick-up place even without their waybill number and asked for them to look and they found it. I am wondering if I am going to have to do that..

Loomis told the person I was talking with here that they absolutely would not look for the package without the waybill number...but I seem to recall reading a post saying that as well. If you plan to go to the physical Loomis address, better call first so you don't waste a trip. It may depend on the person you speak with and how helpful they are feeling at the time.

Loomis locations don't even have their own lines. There is only one number to call so, you're not going to be calling the location that you chose to pick up your visa at.. It's a little ridiculous. I am getting super nervous about where my visa could possibly be.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about the website messing up because of the update... Hopefully I get a response soon to the inquiries I sent.

I finally received a reply from the Montreal US Consulate and I was told they are looking into it.

That's good. I hope you hear something soon.

i thought montreal was pretty fast to issuing and mailing out visa's after the interview. I hope this is just due to the new system switch and not another delay in the process. I am hoping getting my passport back with the visa will be very fast.

USCIS

January 8th 2014 - NOA1

July 10th 2014 - NOA2

NVC

July 17th 2014 - Case shipped to NVC

July 30th 2014 - Case received by NVC

August 13th 2014 - Case number and IIN received by email

August 13th 2014 - DS-261 Form Completed

August 14th 2014 - AOS Fees Invoiced and Paid

September 17th 2014 - IV Fees Invoiced and Paid

September 19th 2014 - DS260 Completed

October 6th 2014 - AOS and IV Packages Received

November 28th 2014 - AOS and IV Checklist (4 items in total. 3 for documents they lost. Called on December 9 and a rep said no checklist for IV....go figure)

December 8th 2014 - Checklist scan date.

December 30th 2014 - Case Compl........NOT. So after not having an interview date yet, I called again on Jan 30th and apparently its in final review with a supervisor.

February 6th 2015 - Case Complete: Supervisor called from NVC to confirm everything has been completed now.

March 27 2015 - Interview Date

March 27 2015 - Approved!

It is supposed to be fast, most people get it within a week or two. For some reason I have been unlucky.

I just got the emails last night that my visa shipped, and this morning it arrived in Winnipeg. Exactly 10 days. I sure hope you hear something positive soon!

I finally got another email from the Montreal consulate this is what it said

''Good day,

We have been experiencing technical issues in issuing your immigrant visa. It looks like the issue was fixed this morning and that we will be able to print the visa today. I will let you know as soon as it is issued and sent by Loomis.

Thank you for your continued patience.

Sincerely,''

Now when I log on to the CEAC wesbite, my visa says ISSUED! Thank goodness, I was wondering how long it would take me to get my visa, it has been 33 days since my visa interview and I still do not have my visa, but now at least I know it is being printed out today and I will be receiving it soon :) Thanks for all your support and I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

If anyone does not get their visa after the specified time they told you you'd receive it and your visa status is still at Ready, contact the Montreal US Consulate ASAP, they take a few days to respond. Send them a public inquiry form using this website
