Hi All,

After 9 yrs of marriage and lots of hurdles, finally we are expecting our first baby and we are organizing a part here in US. My wants her parents (who are in India) to be part of this occasion. My wife got her citizenship based on marriage with me but she hasn’t worked in US so far ( no income last few yrs).

  1. Is it ok to apply visa for her whole family in india ( parents, 1 sister (26), 1 brother (19)) or should apply for only few members ?
  2. Should I sponsor them or my wife needs to sponsor, while I can show financial support on the application ?
  3. Usually for this sort of reason, it is easy to get visa ?. What can really improve chances of getting visa & what can hinder the chances ?.
  4. When her parents should apply for visa if they want to come here in May 2015

Thanks

- Riya

Hi,

1. Each person apply on his/her own.

2. There is no sponsoring for a visitor visa. You can pay their expenses, but there is no sponsoring for a visa.

3. It's not easy to get a visa. They apply based on their individual circumstances and there is nothing you can to to change that.

4. As soon as possible.

Hi All,

Thanks for all the responses

1. Ok I got it . They all have to apply individually but does it matter if they all apply same time ?

2. No one commented on the resaon we are asking for tourist visa. If not that good, what sort of reason or circumstances can improve chances ?

3. What matters more - why they ned to come here or how strong ties they have in India ?

4. Any good link for the step wise process and how long it usually takes if its Delhi, India

Thanks

- Riya

They can all apply at the same time and their reasons to return home are key.
