K-1 are to be sent to Texas, regardless of your location.

yes but that is only the lock box after it sent there it will be sent to either CSC or TSC service center. It should go to California since the op lives in California, but there is no guarantee of that.

Timeline

So after looking at the Immigration Timelines I noticed that there were two service centers listed, California and Texas.

My Fiancee lives in California but we were going to send it to the Dallas Lockbox, but I don't see the point in that if she lives in California and the California service center has much shorter wait times...

I guess my question is, how do we file at the California service center instead of the Texas service center and where do we send it to?

*Edit*: This is for the K-1 Visa.

Please note that the USCIS lockbox facility in Dallas and the TSC in Mesquite are DIFFERENT facilities. They ARE NOT one and the same. Therefore when you create a timeline, please don't claim that TSC is your service center. It isn't. And that you were transferred to CSC. You weren't/won't be.

I'm not sure why new filers don't get this distinction, but whichever. I digress.

9/8/14 - I129F petition sent to the USCIS lockbox via USPS
9/11/14 - Petition received @ USCIS lockbox
9/11/14 - NOA1 Email and text message received
9/15/14 - NOA1 Official notice date
9/18/14 - NOA1 hard copy received
12/9/14 - "Updated" likely because of website repairs, like many of us received
4/20/15 - NOA2 text and email (221 days)

4/29/15 - Sent to the NVC (9 days)

5/8/15 - Arrived at the NVC (9 days)

5/13/15 - Left the NVC (5 days)

5/15/15 - Electronic version arrived at the embassy (2 days)

5/20/15 - Paper copy arrived at the embassy (7 days)

6/4/15 - Status changed to AP (which meant that we could schedule the interview)

6/16/15 - Medical

6/17/15 - K1 APPROVED!!!!

6/30/15 - Passport and sealed envelope delivered via courier

Timeline

It would seem you guys are very new to this. I would plan on spending at least 1 hour a day, reading, and learning from the pros.,,.,they know what they are talking about, as you are just getting started, you will have many questions, but, at least ry, to look at the Guides tab, top of the homepage, and use the K-1, and try to figure it out. Learn to use Igor's List, also, but not too much too quick.

The knowledge here can carry you through this journey, and from time to time, give you piece of mind.

Yes, send you 129-f to the Dallas lock box, from there it will be (99% chance) sent to CSC, and thank goodness it goes there, as TSC, is shameful, in their work. They keep falling father behind.

DO NOT send anything to CSC, let the Dallas Lock Box do it, or it will be returned to you, and you will lose many weeks.

Did you double and triple check all your documents? Keep at least two copies of everything you are sending?

Follow the guides at the top of the home page, it is the perfect document to file the 129-f petition.

Good luck on your journey!

Thank you, we understand that the lock box and Texas service center are different it was our original thought, I just got confused when I noticed the California service center (I hadn't heard of this before). Thank you and everyone else for clearing this up and thanks for the advice.

Ben and Sara.
