Carnival Parade in Germany Canceled Because of Terror Threat

Police in the German city of Braunschweig cancelled a popular Carnival street parade on Sunday because of fears of an imminent Islamist terror attack.

Police spokesman Thomas Geese said police received credible information that there was a "concrete threat of an attack with an Islamist background" on Sunday's parade and therefore called on all visitors to stay at home.

Geese said the parade was canceled less than 90 minutes before its scheduled start and that "many people arriving at the train station from out of town were already dressed up and very disappointed -- but we didn't want to take any risks."

Only nothing actually disappears. One event was cancelled out of caution. Carnival, however, will continue.

Everyone remember that it's the right wing press that is writing stories of murdered Christians, and children, and mass murders of fathers dragged from their homes and shot in the head. All those heads on posts of children and people are just random and not real serious as they were not deliberately targeted. This is only temporary. Nothing to see here. You're so right!

This happened with parents watching their own children go to school. They wanted so bad for every kid to get a trophy and to eradicate all bullies and erase the facts of American history because it included slavery, racism, and old white people. Everyone should remember the words of George Santayana: "Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it."

You will not like America. We're famous for making traditional things disappear.

There was a time when our highschools did not present a threat to life. Gone.

There was a time when our kids could go to school and not feat some lunatic opening fire on them. Gone.

There was then a time when when Americans didn't bomb our own buildings. Gone.

There was a time when immigrants sought America as a new beginning for their lives, not a place where they could bring their homecountry prejudices and bigotry. Gone as evidenced by your posts.

One way to deal with it is by including the disenfranchised into their social system so they feel like a part of something bigger than imported ideology. It's about time they realize the positive aspects of diversity.
