Just wondering in advance for the next stage of sending docs to the nvc, i studied 1 year although technically i was probably there for about 4 months came and then back for another 5. i may have wrote on my i130 i was there for one year.. do i need a certificate? it is going to be very complicated since i don't speak german.. really hoping it isn't necessary since i actually wasn't there for one year.. argh

Generally, a Police Certification is required for over 6 months of stay. Your Passport will answer you length of stay as a reference. I would think Only if you were arrested or charged overseas that it would be needed. TO BE SAFE. Get one if theres nothing to hide. I'm sure it won't be a issue but be safe and pursue that Cert.

i read for k visas it is six months, but for cr1 it is one year or more. do they check the duration on passports electronically as i don't have stamps for proof i left/entrered. i read online it is extremely difficult and i'd have to make a trip to germany just for it!
