Recent CC @ NVC. Trying to save a tree.....

Recently had a CC at NVC and now just waiting for interview to be scheduled. I'll be traveling to Vietnam in a few days and staying there until the interview. I was showing my wife the folder containing the documents I was bringing and she began to tell me about people who have to carry luggage containing all the documents they bring with them.

I don't want to throw out a couple kilos of paper to print out a years worth of chatting on google hangouts every morning and evening.

Some photos. Records of my flights. Records of wire transfers. That should be plenty right? Considering multiple affidavits and photos included in the original petition, bringing a mountain of evidence that likely won't even be looked at seems overkill.

Any horror stories that will make me change my mind?

I seriously doubt that you need to carry suitcase full of papers to the interview. Plenty of photos, boarding passes, email & chat logs, proofs of income should be enough, IMHO.

I wouldn't know since i'm not even CC yet. :( but after reading so many approvals from the forum. They sound like they sort of already made the decision even before the interview. It sounds like the interview is to just confirm the information is actually correct or consistent. Also from reading some of the posts from others approved, that they only looked at some evidence. In one case I read, the guy asked the beneficiary for 3 of her favorite pictures and that was it. You know, I doubt any of them would take the time to look at a huge suitcase of material, they got more interviews to go that day. I know I shouldn't have any right to say anything since I'm still waiting at NVC.

good luck!

also, happy lunar new year!

Yeah, I had the same experience reading through reviews. I'm not going to overload with the photos and chat logs.

Looks like you are close to 1 month behind me in your timeline. I'll bet you get CC within the next couple weeks if all your paperwork is good!

We didn't over load. Just maybe every few weeks of chat logs, phoe records, photos. Just to show a continuance of the relationship. Oh, and gift receipts and post marked letters, cards. We were fine with that.

my wife had a folder about 3 inches thick with chat logs, western union receipts, pictures and emails......interviewer never asked to see any of that. I think 99% of the time they have already made a decision before the interview.

any news on your interview? I was trying to call NVC today, but they were closed by the time I called, so I guess maybe their hours have changed? (I called around 11:30pm EST).Still no CC email yet or updates.

Nothing yet. I called in trying to get any information about when I can expect an interview date. Seems that they schedule in the first couple weeks of each month for the following month. Going to try calling toward the end of next week and hope for an April interview. To have to wait another month for a May interview...... ugh... Hope your CC comes soon.
