Entry into US is ALWAYS at the discretion of the border officers. If you are not a citizen, there is always the chance you can be turned away.

I have not read any here, but I personally know someone who was crossing on a K1, and was denied because of an old criminal record (at least that is what is believed). Everything had been okayed and the person was issued the visa, but was turned away at the border and given a lifetime ban (at least that is what I am told).

The main thing is, until someone has been admitted at the POE, they can be turned away at the discretion of the processing officer. They, and only they, will know their reasons. As I have said, I have not read of any on VJ, if you do a search you may find one or two. All I am saying is, border officers have the power and the authority to turn away anyone, on any type of visa. They will have their reasons, and I really don't know what they would be aside from criminal records or a negative past with immigration.

There seems to be a much, much more deeply reason you ask this question.

People here are your friends, and will help you, but such a generic question, must have some more meaning, than, "why would some one, be denied at POE!"

If it is just a generic question, then you have adequate answers, but I just feel it is more.,.,.,.,hope not.,.,best to you and good luck!

I think that's crazy that you can be denied at POE! If someone has gone through three different agencies, including an interview, and been truthful throughout the process, and have been passed by all three agencies and issued a visa, I don't think it's fair that POE has the authority to deny entry. I mean for many of us, when we get approved for our visa we will sell our home, quite our job, sell our car... If you get denied at POE, there's nothing to come back to. That just sums up the craziness that is the US immigration system.

Like someone has already asked, is there a specific reason why you worry about POE? Have you lied about something during your application process that you're affraid will come up at POE or you're just worried in general?

I spoke to CBP about a week ago and the lady told me that yes they have turned people back but as been stated its for serious reasons. If you tell the truth and answer any line of questions honestly then you should not have any problems. So basically, think of this as a final interview. Certain airports are known to be harassing POE's that's why I have been mapping out my husbands flight to not go to those problematic POE's that just like to give immigrants a hard time.
