COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - Danish police have identified the gunman believed responsible for two deadly shootings in Copenhagen and believe he may have been inspired by last month's Islamist militant attack on French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo, a spokesman said on Sunday.

Police shot dead the man early on Sunday and said there was no indication that the suspect, who has been known to intelligence services earlier, was acting in concert with others.

Police have not released the man's identity and declined to reveal any information about him.

Mass paranoia will be spreading. I hate it when a whole group of people have to be blamed for other individual's acts. I hope they find the savages who encouraged this act and give them the maximum punishment available.

It will be interesting to see how the motley crew will spin this one. According to their rationale - and I do use the term very loosely here - all Danes are to be put into the same category as the shooter... He was, after all, first and foremost, a Danish citizen.
