Interview and what I am going to bring with me

I don't think it's a bad idea. I was only throwing out an option where you can keep trying for free until you have a photo you like. My husband used his same photo from the petition, but it was only 4.5 months between mailing petition and interview so fit their rules. The lady did glare at the picture and and say, "how old is this photo"? He said "I don't remember."

Follow the DOS guidelines if you take your own ...no shadows, white background, etc. The sizing and placement of your face is done automatically with the tool. You just zoom in or out until your face fits exactly in the guide lines.

OK, that makes sense. I guess I just can't understand why they put fuss so much about it (if they do) when there is clearly no obvious change in appearance between the time the photo was taken and the present.

When I went to my fiance for Christmas I actually left all my camera gear there, so all I have now is an iPhone and that won't do. I will email the embassy and see what they say, or otherwise just get those awful ones done at Tesco and take them as back ups so that if there is an issue, I have them to hand without having to incur any unnecessary delays.

I think the point is it should look like you do now. They just quantify it with a date so they don't have to argue with people who bring a glamour shot from 10 years ago because they looked better then. They don't make a fuss. If it looks like you, then use it. If you ask in advance, what can they say but paste the rules in a reply?
