I got my interview letter today for my K1 visa!! My interview is going to be on 3rd of March, I am so excited!! The visa process is finally near an end and soon I will be with my Fiance again!

I have read other posts about what to bring to the interview,

this is my list: Birth Certificate and copy

Police Certificate and copy

Affidavit of Support form

Letter from his employer

Recent Paystubs

Income tax returns

Updated Letter of Intent (As our petition expired in January)

2 Passport Photos ( I may have wrong size I am unsure, so I might bring extra money if need to go to Goulds Pharmacy)

Passport

Interview letter

DS-160 confirmation page

Receipt paid Courier Fee

Receipt paid Embassy Fee

Evidence of our ongoing relationship (I know people say they don't usually ask to see it, but I feel it is better to be safe than sorry)

I am going to bring: Letters he sent me

Whatsapp chat log

Skype Chat log

Some photos

Is there anything else important I have forgotten about?? Do I need to bring receipt of paid Medical Exam?

do you think paystubs and the income tax returns and letter from employer is enough? Do I need to bring some of my fiance's bank statements?

I think the letter from employer will be enough. You have spares. What would bank statements prove that the other things don't?

Oooh, so close to mine! Mine is on the 5th March. You know those photo booths that are everywhere that you'd get your UK passport pics from? They do US sized ones too. Just double check on the outside of them that they do international pictures too, I remember it being pretty clear that they did US sized ones by looking at it/checking the screen inside. It's £7 for 4, which is a bit of a rip off, but they might come in handy again for something else. So you don't have to go wait to go to Goulds to get them done, I got them done in a shopping centre in Preston.

I get my visa sized photos from a photo booth in my local tesco, so if there's one near you, that should do the right size :)

Do they come out OK? We went to a visa specialist photographer and paid £25 each for our original photos. I decided to save some £ for the Police clearance and went to the Tesco booth and damn! I submitted them and they were fine, but aside from adding about 20 years to my face, they looked like crim mugshots! Maybe I need to try a different booth. I wonder if it's the settings(?)

There is an option for passport (UK) or various visa photo sizes so they cover most of the options.

Do you think I could use my original photos from beginning of August for my interview or are they strict on them being exactly 6 months old. I don't look any different and they are better quality than the photo booth ones. Thoughts?

Oh I looked like a complete zombie in my US picture after taking what I thought was a pretty decent UK picture in August for my new passport. I think the newer machines are lit differently and aren't as forgiving as the softer lighting in the older ones. But, it's just for a visa, it's not really that important how good you look. As long as the size is correct, the background is plain and your face is in the correct position then it doesn't matter.

I always look terrible in these photos!

I think using the same ones would be fine...

You can try to take your own. See halfway down this page http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english/passports/photos/photos.html

We have both used that. I just kept taking pictures until I got one I liked.

Tip--don't try to take a headshot. Take at least your whole head and torso. It sizes and crops for you. My first attempt was just the head and that was too big to size down and and crop.

Print at home or put on a disk or thumbdrive and take to a photo place.

Edit: typos

Thanks. I took daughter's passport photo myself last year after the guaranteed service photos were rejected three times!

So it's a bad idea to use the same photos I sent in with our I129F? I guess I can email the embassy and ask.

I don't think it's a bad idea. I was only throwing out an option where you can keep trying for free until you have a photo you like. My husband used his same photo from the petition, but it was only 4.5 months between mailing petition and interview so fit their rules. The lady did glare at the picture and and say, "how old is this photo"? He said "I don't remember."

Follow the DOS guidelines if you take your own ...no shadows, white background, etc. The sizing and placement of your face is done automatically with the tool. You just zoom in or out until your face fits exactly in the guide lines.
