paying green card fee?

If you half to, you can wait till you are in the us to pay the fee. Just keep a copy of your immigrant data sheet.

I know they say to pay it before leaving, but that was not an option for us, and it won't hold you up at immigration. The only thing it will hold up is the production of the green card, but you will have your stamped visa that's good for a year.

I set up my account on ELIS to pay the green card fee but it said no case found so i will just wait to get the visa first then try again

Hi! I just paid my green card fee today. I'm leaving on May 19. Here is the website:

http://www.uscis.gov/uscis-elis

You need to make an account first and then pay through plastic card (credit card.) And voila, you're done.
