He/she has to get someone to file an Affidavit of Support on his befalf, later if that person doesn't meet the poverty guidelines requirements, you can get someone else to Co-sponsor the immigrant with an in order to reach the poverty guideline.

For example, the poverty guideline is 10.000 for 1 immigrant, the petitioner makes 6.000, he makes an Affidavit of support, and gets someone else with and income of 4.000 or more to sign a co-sponsor contract, and thats it.

I'm not taking in count assets, or accounts balances, because from what I've read, ussually current income is what matters, correct me if I'm wrong.

Hope this helps.

Edit: I misread the question.

The sponsor shoukd make enough to meet the poverty guidelines for himself, all his existing dependents, and your son.

If he has been handed a form from the consulate saying he needs an I134 that is what he needs for the visa now, it is too late to try get a job offer or something like that to meet the public charge requirement.

He has been handet a paper where is say

You have been ineligible under those grounds of ineligibility because :

1. Please provide proof of financial support. If you don't have any own assets or a job offer in the US., you must find a US sponsor who completes form I-134 and Mail the notarized documents along with his US federal tax return for 2012 and proof of current U.S income .

They have Give him a month to send it back to the embessy. they also have his passport.

And then they told him that he should find a sponsor

If I understan it correct it shouldn't matter what he chose of those 3

Ah, so they did give him the option of a job offer - that's useful, but does he realistically have a chance of getting a job offer within a month?

Which embassy did he interview at, by the way?
