Hello,

I have called to NVC customer service today to check IV fee but that is not been invoiced yet because they are still looking my DS-261. NVC agent inform me i can send my AOS and IV package before paying IV fee. He said, I will not able to fill up DS-260 until IV fee paid but i can send other documents to NVC. I am confused. can i send my AOS and IV package before paying IV fee?

Thank you for your time.

yes you can send the documents before you paid the IV fees and fill the DS260 form

It is better that way as the 60 days review start once they receive the Documents. If you wait till after you pay the fees to send in documents. that is more time you are waiting

Just make sure you send the AOS and the IV packets together . You can use the AOS document cover sheet, you will need one sheet for each packet .Send both packets to the address on that cover sheet. Also include the NVC document checklist cover sheet with packets.

I know this is a few months past when the question was posted, but just to add my 2 cents worth.....Yes you can send them, but they won't review them until after the AOS and IV bills are both paid and the DS-260 is submitted. So your packages will just be sitting there on hold. I'm waiting to mail the packages until I know they'll actually be ready to review them.

actually paying of fees and reviewing of documents are two seperate process. The nvc start the review of documents once they receive them they do not wait untill the iv fee is paid and the ds-260 is fill out

If you think they are going to review your documents right away because you waited untill all the fees have been paid they will not. The amount of time for them to review the document will be the same. Which actually will make your case take longer at the nvc ,then if you would of sent them in before the Iv fees were paid and the ds-260 is fill out.

You are so very correct. Please do not wait to pay the IV bill before sending in your package. I was told by the NVC to go ahead and send the AOS package right away. That's when the clock starts ticking. My friend waited and lost so much time only to be told she shouldn't have waited for the iv bill. Good luck everyone

Actually, they send you a letter with your scan date as soon as they receive your package. Because I sent mine early, I received my case complete 6 days after I filled out the DS-260. It appears your assumption is incorrect. Send your package ASAP.

The IV/AOS package is reviewed independently of the the IV fee and DS-260. They come together in the end to receive your case complete.

You call the NVC to find out when the documents were scanned into their system.
