I read in the guides section that another medical exam for AOS was not necessary as long as it was within one year. My fiancè had his foreign exam in December. He has the vaccination form from that exam plus the cd with chest xray. The receptionist I talked to on the phone seemed confused about that. We're going tomorrow to talk to the civil surgeon. What am I supposed to ask for to clarify that we don't need another full exam?

A full medical exam is not needed, however, if the vaccination form is not completed, the Civil Surgeon has to do the I693 vaccination part. However, some Civil Surgeons want to do a complete exam and not just part of it. If your husband has all vaccinations there is not need for a visit to a Civil Surgeon.

Hello, I have a question about Form-I693 too. I recently got a notice for a GC interview. I've came to the u.s. using K-1 visa so I have a completed Medical Examination(DS-2054, DS-3025, DS-3026 and DS-3030) but these were valid for only 6 months, already expired. Some of my friends said that the medical examination for K-1 visa is valid for 1 year. My interview is gonna be on 10th Mar 2015 and Date of medical exam for K-1 was 10th Mar 2014. If these old documents still works, do you think I can still use these or I should get Form-I693? Thank you

We did not go a CS and submitted the DS 3025 along with these instructions: Green Card in hand with no RFE!

3. What if I am a K nonimmigrant visa holder and already had a medical exam overseas?

If you were admitted as a:

a. K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e); or as a

b. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and

c. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then:

(1) You are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination, and the medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition, or if you did have a Class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility and have complied with the terms and conditions on the waiver.

(2) Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you are required to submit the vaccination record and page 1 of Form I-693.

Knightsbridge will give you the 3025. The doc my fiance saw gave him the form and reminded him to hold on to it- that it would be important later on.

It's just a single sheet of paper - they will actually staple a little note to it telling you to hold on to it.

If you file for AOS within a year of your Knightsbridge medical - you don't need a new exam.

If your DS-3025 is complete, then just send a copy of it with your AOS application. No need to send in form I-693.
