Hi, after I received the P4 confirmation email from Guangzhou consulate on Dec 31th, 2014, I have contacted Guangzhou consulate three times and CGI Visa center six times in regard to the issue of unable to schedule my CR1 visa interview. I’ve been following the instructions from the Guangzhou consulate and CGI visa center using different computers / cell phones trying every hour every day since Jan 11th (until the account been locked by the system for checking too many times), yet I am still not be able to get any slot.

During this time, I’ve learned from different immigrant forums, many people have scheduled appointments successfully. It was especially unusual, on Feb 6th, 2015, two people I know with the same visa type (CR1) got their appointments successfully. One got the March 5 slot around 10 am, the other one got the March 3 slot around 11.30 am. I've been trying the CGI system three times between 10 am and 11.30 am, also calling CGI visa center reps for help. However, either I or the CGI reps can only find "There are currently no appointments available". And the third applicants told me when she logged in at 11.30 am, there was still three days slots available. I’m sure all these data and evidence can be found from CGI. Because of this, I can not agree with CGI’s feedback as “all the appointments are gone when I log in the system”.

I learned from this forum, during the embassy move in 2013, some applicants had to wait for 10 days to get the appointment. However, I’ve been trying for A MONTH without success. By “trying later”, I’ve already missed the February and the early March slots, and I don’t know how long it will take. I'm feeling really desperate. Anyone has suggestion how to solve this problem? Thanks you.

Did they assign you the "interview data and time" in your P4 confirmation email?

After i got my "xxx - std p4 app" email, i failed to make the appointment on the consulate website on the same day they assigned in my interview letter. Then i asked them and was told that i didn't need to make the appointment online. But you have to choose one of Zhongxin banks to get your approved visa after the interview.

We had case complete on 02/06/2015

one week later NVC assign/gave us interview date of 03/02/2015 in GUZ.

We did EP and everything came through email.

Now would be a good time to call NVC and or GUZ.

That CGI web site is a waste of time.

I never did get it to work for me.

Call NVC and GUZ

Well, it smells like you did DCF, as your P4 issued from GUZ IV without an appointment date. Or you were a totally paper casefile at NVC.

P4s coming from NVC, doc intake, visa application work done at NVC, using EP, get the appointment date inside of the P4.

So - I say - call back the USTravelDocs/CGI helpline, punch the option 'to schedule' and get a human - a human there will schedule it for you. If there are no slots available, mention you are a paper filer for CR-1 and cannot use the online system , ask for shift supervisor (usually have higher access to slip you in on the calendar. Usually)

Sorry yer having problems to get scheduled - usually women team up on qq groups to help each other notice when appointments are available, free'd up again. The lock-out you've described is normal.

Thanks everyone! We applied the CR1 visa in China, which doesn't have an assigned appointment date.

@Darnell Your advice is very help, yet we have tried all of them without any luck. First, I spoke to "human" from the ustraveldocs helpline for more than 15 times. Even they operated the system from their side for me, they saw the same result "no available slots" as I did. I asked to speak to their supervisor, however, they just made excuses about their supervisor were not there. One time, a woman did put my husband on hold for about 20 minuets and was supposed to talk to her supervisor, yet when she got back, she said there was no lock-out or any other problem with my account. All we can do is keep trying.

I joined a qq group as well, but nobody has this problem. From the group, I know at least 4 or 5 people scheduled the appointments successfully (and quite easily) during this time period. Even I tried at the same time when they informed me, I just could not see any calendar.

Btw, the Guangzhou consulate said they could not help either, it was CGI maintained the appointments for them....

So anyone knew how to make a complaint to the service of ustraveldocs/CGI?

slots are released sometime within the month. if next month is full, well, it's full.

i say check with the qq group, or make a new one if those members are scheduled now,

or check only twice a day.

sometimes slots are released due to reschedule requests. rare, but it happens.

if the IV UNIT cannot schedule you themselves, something is very broken, as a Vice-Consul there has much input into the system.

I thought was DCF case.. <<shrugs>>

I can only assume, rightly or wrongly, that they got the appointment, went to the appointment, was approved, and have been too busy with the rest of 'life' to come back and post any news.
