I went in November and was surprised at how the interview are now done in the wide open.

I was able to watch and listen (From a distance) to about 20 interviews and most of the ones I listened to was family based and I would say I saw many people not bring their Affidavit of Support documents, I heard CO giving them explanation.

I guess every case is different. I brought all the required documents, all they asked from me is my birth cert. cenomar, nbi, slec med result and the payment receipt. It 's like we just wasted money for sending the I-134, 1040, W2s etc. but hey it's better to be prepared than sorry.

Btw everyone who's station at the immigrant, k1&spousal are all friendly ( based on my experience ) . Hence on the other side you wouldn't feel the warmth when you're just applying for a tourist visa. Applied 2011, got approved but the way they interview us it just felt weird and crazy.

The I-134, tax return and W2 are stilled listed in the instructions letter, but since the new instructions letter came out (December 2014) the working has changed where it doesn't read as required anymore.... just "good to have"
