My fiancé is in Senegal awaiting interview that is near approaching. I sent everything I thought I needed but now after reading another post on here I am worried! Basically, I am a student and I needed a co sponsor. So I sent i-34 with all the co sponsor documents and info and signature on i34. I also sent an i34 with my info. Now I read on another post that I was also supposed to send 864 since I have a co sponsor!!! I thought that was for later when he is usa for his adjustment of stAtus, not for initial k1 interview!! Please someone tell me I'm not mostaken!!!!

Relax you are fine. The I-134 is for the k1 petition.

The I-864 is for AOS (or spouses?)

If in doubt follow the guides. People on this forum are wrong all the time, I too have been sometimes.

But the guides are taken directly from uscis themselves.

You are fine with the I-134

( just incase I am incorrect, hopefully someone who has used a sponsor will answer your question)

So I'm still conflicted. How can I have clear answer on i864 information? I only sent co sponsor i34 and info w2, taxes etc. But NOT i864. Should I cancel his interview until dhl could get the i864 there??

The I-864 is NOT for K-1 visas. I have a co-sponsor for my I-134 and they just filled out the same form.

The instructions for the I-864 clearly state that it is used by the petitioner for an immigrant visa overseas, or adjusting status to that of a lawful permanent resident. That would be the step after the K-1.

You are fine. The I-864 is a little trickier when it comes to co-sponsors and whatnot, BUT you have plenty of time to worry about that after you get approved for your K-1 and marry your love.

Ok I was really worried! I have my cosponsor that agreed to i 864, I just did not send.

Now I'm laying here worried because I hope the call logs I sent are good enough....T-Mobile only had mine go back to October, but we have been dating since we met over 3 years ago.

I really need this to go smooth we just had a newborn baby on Christmas day and I want him to meet his first child while she is still newborn:-(

I also sent many photos, and a couple of my flight itineraries.

Hope that the chat log isn't a compilcation. I'm considering even flying to dakar for the interview I'm just worried about bringing my newborn out there so young. Ok vent over lol

Relax.

The I-129F petition requires the I-134 Affadavit of Support form, even with co-sponsors. So,

for the U.S. (USCIS/NVC) side, that is what is required. It worked, because you got an interview

date, meaning USCIS approved the petition :)

Next phase is the U.S. Consulate or Embassy in the homeland of the beneficiary- Senegal in this

case. Here is becomes a little more complex: Consular Officers may set rules for their own office

regarding what they need for (additional) paperwork: some are fine with self-sponsoring by the

beneficiary (London and Amsterdam, for example), some demand a (stricter) I-864 Affadavit of

Support if there is a co-sponsor (I believe Manila requires this, for example), and some demand

that the peitioner is present during the interview. This is all based on their experience with people

and the occurrence of fraud in any given country... more fraud means more (extra) rules, etc.

So, unless your fiancé has received instructions to bring in a signed I-864, they just want the

I-134 you already sent your fiancé, and you'll be fine. Worst case, they will do the interview,

and, if approved, put it on hold until your ffiancé can hand them a signed I-864. That will delay

the process a little bit, but it's not "fatal" ....

Good luck, fingers crossed !
