Hi. When me and my wife got our marriage certificate, we noticed they miss-spelled her fathers first name. We were told it will take a couple months to fix. Our problem is we need to send in our AOS packet before my wife's medical is expired next month. Does anyone know if we will have a problem if we sent it with the misspelling? Could we send explanation letter? thank you

P.S. She came here on a K 1 visa and we live in CA

Send it the way it is and meanwhile get it fixed. Usics may or may not notice/care about such a minor discrepancy and worse case scenarion you'll get rfe and by that time you'll hopefully get a corrected certificate.

Her father's name has no bearing whatsoever on your AOS. It shouldn't be an issue.

Her father's name has no bearing whatsoever on your AOS. It shouldn't be an issue.

It could be an issue on the credibility of the marriage certificate.

Small chance as it is.

I'd send a letter explaining and that it is being fixed but will take a while and that by the time your might interview you'll have a fixed version.

They probably won't even notice.

After I received my green card I noticed that my wife's birth certificate listed her place of birth as "Califronia".
