Generally, I shop for low price.

But I do have some preferences:

  • British Airways for Atlantic route journeys
  • Singapore Airlines for Pacific route
  • AA, Delta or Northwest for trips to Canada, most US
  • OK to use other airlines (Southwest, JetBlue) if they go that route within US

QANTAS!!!

All my trips to and from Germany and Australia, have been with Qantas. Also all my flights to and from the USA and Australia have been Qantas.

Qantas international has free food, and alcohol, and even after the evening meal, they give you a free bag of goodies to get you through the night, til the early morning meal. And thats a good deal, when its 21hours from Germany to Oz. They also have lil screens behind every seat, and you have your choice of 4-5 movie channels and 12 other channels in Economy and 6 movie channels in Business class, not to mention a load of games you can play too,..Good for the kids!!

Last trip back to the States was with American, and I certainly will not complain,..had a really enjoyable flight, and I still accumulated points being part of the Oneworld alliance.

Have also flown Lufthansa to the States,...both my husband and I thought the seats were mega uncomfortable, and British Airlines when I did my round the world trip a few years ago, also earned points for Qantas through them, Good food, entertainment, and staff were wonderful..they would be my second Favourite.

I am about to fly Alitalia this Friday, from Germany to Rome and return Monday for 188 euro, or about 250usd, will see how that goes I guess....

when i can afford it, i really like flying asiana airlines

last time i flew, it was china air, and it was horrible.

I flew China Air from Beijing to JFK in '05 and it was a 13-hour torture session. The food was pretty decent and the flight was on time but dang, no amenities like video screens (pretty standard for the extra-long-haul flights even in coach now no?), and I swear there was one screaming child under 5 in each row...not CA's fault but it added to the general suckiness of the experience. On my last trip to Kat I flew Gulf Air and was very happy, had an extremely tight connection in Heathrow b/c my flight from JFK was 45 minutes late taking off, even though the flight was closed at the time I ran to the counter they let me on, Alhamdulillah!!

For long-haul flights I like Continental (they have a nice nonstop flight Newark-Honolulu) and the absolute best has to be Singapore - too bad they don't fly to Kat anymore. You've gotta love it when you ask for a veg meal and you have a choice of Chinese, Indian or Western... For my upcoming trip I would like to fly with Thai - they seem to have the best deals now from JFK - KTM, I have heard great things about them and I would like to spend a few days in Bangkok on my way back to Zoo York City. If I were feeling adventurous I would try Yeti Air(because you gotta love an airline named after a mythical hominid) or Royal Nepal but since I am hoping for a future with my fiance I think I will pass this time...

In answer to the question, I almost always go for cheapest price.

No loyalty whatsoever, but I usually end up flying Delta or American, just because they're invariably cheapest!

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

I prefer Continental because I want to have the screen in the back of the seat, it helps keep my mind occupied because I am usually scared out of my mind  I did fly American for my first flight ever and I remember having to peer over rows of seats to watch reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond projected on a wall for the whole flight from France to Dallas.

For my next flight I chose Continental and their 500 mile bonus over American and their 10,000 mile bonus for flying to London and savings of $11.00.

My town is kinda small so our airport dosen't go to many places, this gives me fewer and more expensive options. It's only an international airport because every so often it gets a flight in from Mexico

I have frequent flyer mile accounts with both American and Continental, I think I want to trade someone my American miles for Continental miles. Has anyone ever heard of this? (or would be interested?)

I flew that route (Rome-Frankfurt) with Alitalia once but it was maybe 10 years ago so maybe things have changed - no major complaints, with a flight that short as long as it's reasonably on time and I arrive in one piece I'm happy... :)

I usually go for the cheapest rate. However, I have an American Express Delta Air Miles CC. I've flown Delta a lot, Continental second. Right now I'm just hoping to get enough air miles to fly home before I'm too old to fly. ;)
