How long does it take to get the NOA for ROC?

And is NOA the extension letter or both are different?

Your timeline is a bit confusing.

Did I read correctly that you sent your ROC packet out in the beginning on 2014 and haven't received the NOA yet??????????

How long does it take to get the NOA for ROC? It can take up to a month to receive the NOA.

And is NOA the extension letter or both are different? The NOA is the extension letter

You will not receive email for I-751 until you receive a case number so you can use it to enroll in email and text.

I didn't get an NOA, and ended up waiting the full month before calling USCIS. If you don't get it, they'll tell you to make an infopass appointment. I just have a stamp in my passport instead.

Your NOA and Bio letters will have case numbers (2 for the Bio letter, not sure about NOA), one of which you can enter into the USCIS website and subscribe to get email and/or text updates. In my case, I didn't get the NOA but I did get the Bio letter about a week after they received our paperwork. Times can vary greatly on when each is received. I'm going through the California Service Center, which tends to be quicker.

Take some time to look at the various months that are currently in progress in this board. You can then see the variety of dates everyone has. You can see when the documents were sent and when the NOAs are dated. The NOA dates on the lists are the receipt dates from the NOA we get. So as zentaco pointed out, some folks don't even get that letter for whatever reason but it is definitely not the norm.

Watch for you check being cashed. At least that tells you someone has opened your package! Then watch the mail for your letter. I got mine very quickly. The receipt number on the first one is useless. But that letter is your extension letter and extends you residency for one year. After that you will receive another notice with your biometrics appointment. THAT is the receipt number you want for checking your case status and where you sign up for text and/or email alerts.
