Got my EAD & SSN all good on that front a few weeks back.

My wife & I went to the interview this morning, arrived early & well dressed.

We got called by an older gentleman with a southern accent, very nice. Swore us in & we took a seat. He told us right off the bat that he couldn't approve us today as he didn't have one file he needed as we'd been miss informed & canceled our original case & refiled.

He told us we didn't have to do that & asked who we spoke to at the call center, but was relaxed about it. Seemed pissed we'd lost money & time on miss information.

Asked us to confirm our address, how we met, who was at the wedding, what we both did for a living....all questions went to my wife 1st. We had included ultra sound scans in our packet so he asked my wife when our baby was due, my wife replied "she was born 3 weeks ago" wife was a bit put out the officer thought she was still pregnant but saw the funny side!

It was general chit chat for a bit while stamping various things & seemed to be ticking things as we went along.

He asked the questions of "had I been arrested etc" then we showed him a some photos then told us he was waiting for a file for us to arrive from another office then he could approve us but told us were good & they would post the green card out when he gets the file. Shook hands & left.

All very pleasant, case has been updated to say "interview completed, case needs further review" so now we wait on the card to arrive.

Just to follow up...

Got an approval pop up on the website, green card is in the mail.

Filed November and approved today.

I cannot stress enough, if you are a real marriage you have nothing to worry about. We had all the stress and the wait but it is just that, waiting.

One piece of advice id offer is, forget the call center and make an infopass.
