I need help ASAP on the form I 1864 does NVC go by net or gross income?

Hi all,

went in for the infopass appointment today. Service was very quick! The officer started out by saying the normal processing time is up to a year because they are delayed on every type of application except N400. Then she looked further, asked some questions, and told me the case is pending background checks. She also submitted an inquiry which goes to a supervisor. It asks that the case be looked at and a decision be made, if possible. If the last step is just to review everything and make a decision, then that's what they will do. However if they are still waiting on background checks, we will have to wait until that is finished, and it cannot be rushed. Praying it will be soon!!! She did say our case was worked on last month.....

Glad to hear you went to the appt. That's good that an inquiry was done in person. On the phone, they would not do that.

Did you look at the 864 instructions on uscis website?

"For purposes of this affidavit, the line for Total Income on IRS Forms 1040 and 1040A will be considered when

determining income. For persons filing IRS Form 1040 EZ, the line for adjusted gross income will be considered."

Update: Got off the phone with NVC and they just reviewed my DS-261!!! Yayyy! Happy again!

Nice! Now they will invoice your IV fee

i feel like driving to New Hampshire and throwing a temper tantrum right in front of NVC complete with crying and kicking.

I've been calling NVC everyday and they keep telling me they can't "unlock" my case. So I can't add my email address or review the DS 261 over the phone. It's been 9 days since I filled it out which I realize isn't alot of time but still.

I wonder what happens if they receive my packets and review them before I can pay the IV fee?

Do not give up, call multiple times the same night.

That's the thing- I'm not sure if they are saying it's locked because they don't want to do it or cause they can't. I don't want to be pushy if they really can't do anything .

What was their reason for case being locked? How can they unlock it?

Which option are you selecting to speak to agent?

Update: Got off the phone with NVC and they just reviewed my DS-261!!! Yayyy! Happy again!

That's the thing- I'm not sure if they are saying it's locked because they don't want to do it or cause they can't. I don't want to be pushy if they really can't do anything .

We are on the same boat. I don't think there's anything they can do.

My case was unlocked 4 days after DS-261. My daughter's has been locked for 13 days now. After my husband complained, they sent her case for Supervisor Review, but nothing has changed ever since.

My husband was actually wondering if maybe a person just got these cases and went on vacation or something. It's impossible they can simply disappear like this.

To answer your question. They won't review your case until they receive everything. Is the IV fee all you are missing? How about the DS-260? I talked to Customer service and said that until we complete the DS-260...they won't look at the packages.

They won't review your package until you submit DS-260. But at least if you send your package beforehand, NVC can review your package right away without wasting one or two days for delivery time.

Why did NVC lock your case? I was wondering since many people's case are getting locked. Are they reviewing the case?
