Well, just an update, I have submitted the DS-260!!!!!!!!!!! What an amazing feeling!! However, I won't feel relieved until I send all the doc's out, I hope soon!! One step more to go...I just pray there are no checklist on the road. May God continue to Bless Us All!!

Yay finally. How long did it take for you to fill out DS-260? I am wondering cause there's a lot of questions and I already filled out a fillable form of DS-260 just to be prepared hehe. Yes, I pray there are no checklist for us all!

Congrats! How were you able to pay the IV fee and do the DS-260? I paid the AOS fee like 3 weeks ago and still I can't pay the IV fee. Did you have to call for them to review DS-261?

For me, my husband called NVC 2 weeks after we paid AOS fee, and they reviewed our DS-261 via phone call. Try to call them on Monday.

Hi, my husband called the nvc and was told to wait in the mail box for the case number and iin. How long will it for us to wait in the mail box? Thank u

When was the last time you called NVC? Also, when did NVC receive your case? It should take around 10-14 business days to get your case number. You can get the number by calling NVC, and I think it's faster than waiting for the mail.

Hi, there is no shortcut, sadly. The only reason I was able to access both fees was because I hired an attorney to file my case, so the attorney automatically became my agent. Therefore, the DS-261 step, was skipped in my case, which allowed me to go into the step of paying the fees. A day after the fees were paid, I was able to do the DS-260. I recommend going through the sample they have on the website, you can can familiarize yourself with the application, and have the answers to the questions ready so you can finish the form in one sitting. Also, as you are waiting to pay the IV fee, start gathering all the documents to be sent out to NVC. I can't move forward, since I am still missing a document from my husband.....praying to get it in this week!!

I forgot to mention that after my case was Approved in USCIS, I decided to cut ties with the attorney, since I realized I could do this myself without paying a couple of thousand dollars for filing paperwork I feel I can do myself. So, that takes me to some extra work I have to do, which is remove the attorney from my case, but NVC told me I could keep moving forward, since it was a matter of just changing the attorney as the agent to me.

In any case, I am certain you guys, and all February filers will soon have access to that IV invoice and DS-260 form. I'm praying for all of us to go through this NVC stage quickly and without any checklists!!!

Ahhh gotcha! Well, guess we just have to wait Congrats again and hopefully everything goes smoothly

So they said they have sent your welcome letter August 6? Wonder why it takes so long for you to get it. Do you live outside the US? Why don't you try to call again tomorrow till you get a representative who will want to give you your case number and IIN. Some representatives are not so helpful sometimes. Probably cause they are tired of the same questions all day.

Hi there! If the case was sent FROM Nebraska Service Center on the 6th then assume that it got @ NVC on the 13th (usually it's between 5-7 days). After, add another 11-12 days until they have your case in the system. So that would be the 25th. Try and call again this week and if you get an operator that won't tell you the case # and IIN, call later or call the 2nd day. You'll get an operator to tell you what you need, at some point. Don't worry! Just insist with the calls

Hello again! So we just got off the phone with NVC and we tried to get them to review our DS-261, so we can pay the IV fee. But the operator told hubby that the case is locked. Should we be worried? What does that mean??

Btw, we paid the AOS fee on the 20th of August.

Perhaps locked because someone is working on it..

Ask for clarification... or did he ask how to get it unlocked?

No, he did not ask that. The lady just told him to try and call again tomorrow and maybe by then it will be unlocked. :/

Same situation. They didn't use the word locked but he said he couldn't get into it. I asked for an explanation and he sd that it was recently put into the system so they are still entering some of the info. He gave me the 42 day time frame but I put on the "poor me" voice and he said call middle of this week and they should be able to get into it.

Hi! It didn't take me long, it took me maybe 30mins., just because I over checked my answers like 10 times!! haha. Just like you, I had the form pre-filled out. That is the smartest thing to do, so you can have the documents ready and answers to fly by it. But, again, recheck your answers various times, until you are confident to click the submit button!

Hi! I wouldn't be worried, that is the term they say when they cannot access your application at that time, call again another day. Based on the date that you paid your AOS fee seems fairly soon. So, don't be worried, instead start gathering those documents to NVC, if you haven't yet! Don't let that "locked case" get to you, is nothing to worry about.
