Haha! I know it is difficult!! Since, I work in front of a computer 8 hours a day, and I am just so tempted on going to the website and check almost every hour!! But we gotta be strong! Only one more day....if we do continue to see PAID, well..we can just pray for an N/A next week, and be thankful to have gotten this far. Hope you have an awesome day!

Exactly- like my work computer has all the info saved so it takes me 2 seconds to log in and I'm so used to doing it. It will be next week for sure- I claiming it for us both.

Hope you have a great day too..

Hi Everyone, I am new to this board. After reading a lot of cases being at the nvc stage, I wanted to see if anyone has the same status as mine. So I filed my i130 in February and still havent recieved approval. I got an update on August 28 that my case was recieved at my local uscis office. Has anyone recieved the same thing?

Hello... well if I'm understanding correctly, you filed your I130 in February, and haven't gotten approval (NOA2) from USCIS? Have you called USCIS to get an update on why your case was transferred? I know there are people in this forum whose cases were transferred to other offices, but I'm unsure as to why. Try calling USCIS to get an update and get a better understanding of what is going on with your case, you can even ask to get an appointment with an officer at a nearby USCIS office. But, I would call USCIS first. Good Luck!

Was your case at the Vermont center? You don't have a timeline so I can't be sure but it sounds like your case may have been transferred.

Have you checked online for status of your case? If it was transferred you will be geting an approval soon!

I personally started calling NVC on the day after the case was physically at NVC, 8/10. Got case number assigned a few days later.

Generally speaking it will take 2-3 days to process each fee. Please refer to my signature for my timeline details.

I think from initial NVC case scan to case complete will take about 30-40 days at the minimum. Of course there are exceptions, some will breeze through faster than others. It all depends on how fast you respond and how often you sweet talk them to helping you get the info you need. Just as a heads up, your patience may be tested.

Here is the link to the NVC thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/563949-nvc-filers-september-2015/page-37#entry7818969

Good luck!

Thanks so much! We got our approval so now getting ready with everything for the NVC stage. Want to breeze through it.

Checking your timeline, your time at NVC was short and sweet! That's so awesome. Will be back to pick your brain some more, hehe :)

I spoke to USCIS twice. The first time they told me that the reason they transferred my case to the local office is to schedule me, the petitioner, an interview and that they may do this for some cases. He also told me that they won't schedule the appointment for another 3-4 months. :( I called again today and the lady told me something different. She said that they transfer cases when they are backed up and that it will stay in my local office for a little and then be transferred back to Missouri field office. So basically it started off at the Nebraska office then Missouri and now its at my local office in New York.

I know they sometimes do interviews of the petitioner but I don't know much about it nor know of anyone that has gone through it. Just what I have read on here over the last year. Not sure about the whole backed up thing and the local office either.

Have you gotten the transfer notice in the mail yet? That should tell you what center/office the case was transferred to.

I've read of some cases where the petitioner was called in for an interview at the local office. It's usually because they want to ask some clarifying questions about the relationship (based on the little I've read). You may want to search the forum about how to prepare for this interview.

Last month USCIS transferred a lot of cases from VSC to CSC because of a backlog of cases and to even workload, but it seems your transfer was not related to this.
