Yes I did forget to add it's $10,000 or over in foreign accounts. So in your case you don't have to worry about it. Taxes are so complicated here especially for US citizens as expats in other countries.

Hell even as a TN status or a US visa holder, you need to do a lot of ####### for taxes. It's not easy that's for sure...

I continue to use my Canadian bank account. Money goes in, money comes out. That is how my child support is paid. But I never have over $10,000 at any time. The only thing I do have that sits is a locked in Canadian RRSP - but that's only around $6 K. So I don't have to worry about that until it gets over $10,000?

Thanls for all the great advice. I'll definitely check the links that some of you posted. I know this will be way easier next year.

I do have another question: Every week I transfer money from my American account to my Canadian account to pay remaining Canadian bills. Is canada going to tax me on that as 'income', or is that covered under the reciprocal agreement?
