Woohooo (L)

Apparently it was approved February 2nd. So, over 6 months of waiting with the Texas service center has finally paid off!

So, what happens next?

What forms is the U.S consulate in Sydney going to send out?

Is there anything I can do to prepare for the forms and info they will request?

Do they want criminal record, medical, etc?

Thanks guys.

Hrmmm, was I supposed to receive my packet 3 already?

Because I never did.

Packet 3 is your NoA2.

That's the hard copy.

Or at least I think it is.

Packet 3 is your NoA2.

That's the hard copy.

Or at least I think it is.

Nope, packet three is the instructions you receive from the embassy where you will be interviewed. It contains information regarding the next stage.

OP, after your NOA2 your petition makes a pit stop at the NVC before being routed to your embassy. If you haven't received your packet three yet, don't panic! It may take a few weeks from NOA2.

(Having said that, mine never actually arrived but oh well! :P)

[Moderator hat off]

With all the "dead time" during this process, there's every opportunity to become a student of the process and know what to expect at successive stages. No reason to be caught flat-footed.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Whaaaaaa?

Okay, what happens if I don't receive it lol

Is it coming in the mail or via email?

If you didn't receive what? Packet 3? Your NOA2 hard copy? Or what?

Has TSC notified you that it sent it to NVC yet?

Regardless, it can take up to a couple weeks for your petition to go from TSC to NVC, where it will likely be for a few days, then it will be shipped to the consulate in Sydney. In other words, it will be around a month or so before it reaches Sydney.

If you read the K-1 guide and the Sydney guide, you should have a pretty good idea of what to expect and do.

Check out the tread below for general information for July TSC filers post NOA2. The portal for your country is also a good source for embassy/consulate specific instructions. The time will move much quicker now - Good luck.

Congragulation!

What to send to your fiance once the package I 129F is approved ( received NOA 2)

1.A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one). Your fiance(e) should review this information in advance of the interview (the embassy will have copies of this as well).2.Send copies of the documentary proof that you submitted with the I-129F for your fiance(e) to have on hand for their interview at the embassy. Your fiance(e) should review this information in advance of the interview (the embassy will have copies of this as well).3.Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).4.I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.5.You will need several items (for the above form). Gather duplicate evidence of income and resources as appropriate:

(A) Statement from an officer of the bank/financial institution with your deposits, identifying the following: 1. date account opened; 2. total amount deposited for the past year; 3. present balance

(B) Statement(s) from your employer on business stationary showing: 1. Date and nature of employment; 2. salary paid; 3. whether position is temporary or permanent (also include copies of your last two pay stubs and your previous W-2 for the associated employer if available)

© If Self Employed: 1. Copy of last income tax return filed (or IRS transcripts); or 2. report of commercial rating concern

(D) List containing serial numbers and denominations of bonds and name of record owner(s).

Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. See this FAQ for more tips and useful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.6.A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail. (backup information; the embassy will have copies of this as well)7.Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, online chat logs (pick several over the prior few months), etc.. from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 until date-now).

Examples: Copies of land line and cell phone bills, appropriate emails and letters you have sent including the stamps on envelopes (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

------------------

My experiance is below:

Since you got approved I 129F ( by email): then about 2 weeks later you will receive USCIS mail for NOA 2.

Base on date of NOA2 - within a month your package I 129F will be in NVC office and they continue to deal your I 129F to issue case number.

after 1 month later since NOA 2 date, if you have not receive any information from NVC , you should call them and ask case number of your I 129f , you will be hold for waiting about 15 or 30 mins until NVC officer reply the phone. Or you must call some times until you can reach them. They will ask you " petitioner 's name, your fiance 's name , DOB of both, receipt number - NOA 1.)

When you got case number, your fiance will double check on

website https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

if your case is " ready"

it means that i 129 f package is on Embassy Office already.

She will do the next step : apply DS 160 online...print it our ( DS 160 confirmation page);

and choice interview day , after you recieved confrimation letter to enter the next step.

Pls also reference " K instruction from US Embassy in your country.

Good luck
