I-130 passed to Nebraska.. what's next?

Hi all. So I sent in my I-130 to the Chicago Lockbox early last week and today received confirmation that it was received.

Along with that message came the following: "Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS Nebraska Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number [redacted]." Is this NOA1? I'm a little unclear on all the terminology on this board.

What exactly does this mean? Will my case be processed by the Nebraska Center from here on out? What are the next steps? Finally, is there a processing time estimate for the Nebraska center? It probably doesn't matter, but my wife is from Hungary and I did provide copious amounts of evidence to support the bonafide nature of our marriage.

Yes ur case is with Nebraska. All u can do is wait, pray and collect as much evidence of bonafied marriage till u get noa2.

We are also with Nebraska and we filed on Sept. And we are expecting noa2 by this month.

Nebraska is slowest one for processing. 6 - 7 months is the time from from noa 1 to noa 2.

Ur email might have a number starting from LIN ... That's ur case number.

A loooooong wait. Unfortunately, Nebraska is the slowest of the service centres.

We are September filers and am expected to hear something within the next month. About two months ago, we started gathering information for the. NVC phase, to be prepared.

Thanks for the information. Why are you hoping to get information during this month? Is there a 5 month average wait?

Just trying to understand.

We've maintained this for 5 years already. Another year is not too daunting.

Nebraska is currently a 5 to 6 month wait on average. Maybe longer for some.

Once Nebraska approves your petiton it is sent ot the NVC...for me, it was two weeks after approval for the NVC to receive my case despite notices saying otherwise. I called the NVC yesterday and was told it was a 42 day wait after they receive the case before they could help me....so I am waiting patiently.

As Said by others,

Yes They are sending your case to Nebraska,Go to Uscis.gov to get their expected time frame, and when our case was with them they processed it almost to the day of the expected time.You'll received your I-797 from the Nebraska service center and it will have the receipt number on the top beginning with LIN,once you have that check the case status at USCIS.gov because sometimes the time it takes them to mail you things is a few weeks delayed so you can get the most up to date info on that page. Once it was transferred to NVC they contacted me via email within 3 weeks with my case number and invoice.Good Luck!
