Question Regarding NOA1; I-797C

Hello everyone.

I am new here, and had a question for some of the more experienced folks on here.

I sent in an I-129f, K1 fiance visa application and was routed to the TSC. I got my NOA1 by email and text on 2/4/15, and my hard copy today 2/9/15.

On the hard copy where it has the beneficiary info, it has her (my fiances) name, birthday and birth place.

She was born in the West Bank (Jerusalem) Palestine. But on the Hard copy it has her birth place in JORDAN. Which is the neighboring country. I did go over all the information that i sent in (I have copies) and everywhere it asks for her birthday, i wrote in Jerusalem, for the city, and Palestine for the country.

So im confused, why do they have it as JORDAN, and should i contact them to correct it?

Is Palestine recognize as a country, by other countries ? I do not know. If it is not then that might be why they wrote Jordan in

Im not sure if the US recognizes it, but i would think that it would get tagged on to Israel instead. Jordan stopped being responsible for the West Bank years ago.

In short, the US does not recognise Palestine as an independent country, even though it effectively is. They do not permit foreign-born US citizens to list Palestine as their place of birth in either a US passport or CRBA, or (presumably) will not list it on any official correspondence for aliens.

Not sure why it's listed as Jordan though; as I understood it it was usually changed to Israel. Perhaps it's because they were born in Palestine whilst Jordan controlled it? That lasted until 1988 I believe.

ok, so i wonder would that affect my application for her? I was born here so im not worried about that. But she was born there (Jerusalem), and the consulate I put on the application it get sent too is the one in Jerusalem.

It's probably something to bring up at the interview down the line, but I'm sure it's just for the reasons I already mentioned.

Its interesting, she was born after it ended in 1991. I will tell her to bring it up down the line during the interview, and thanks for the feedback.

The only thing I'm worried about is that TSC start sending me RFE's, or they reject it because its not recognized as a country. I wouldnt know what to do at that point.
