Hi dear VJ experts! Please advice me on this me and my wife are going crazy over this.

My wife sent the I-130 with paid fees (420$) and all necessary documents via USPS Signature confirmation on 12/03/2014. Since then we still haven't heard anything!

As I've gathered from VJ, we should receive NOA1 by now, right? . Only thing we have is USPS delivery confirmation stating that the application is received by the USCIS on 5th December! signature confirmation indicates that D Van Arsdale signed it. What should we do now? My wife called USCIS and she said they're asking for a receipt number , they were not helpfull.

I am no expert, but it sounds like they might have lost your package. That or there was something missing and they are going to send it back.

Did you email the lockbox support email address to ask?

I am guessing that you sent it to Phoenix correct? We just filed in Phoenix and the same person signed for ours and we got the email notification 2 days later.

Did you submit form G-1145 to get the email and/or text message or just waiting for the mailed one? Sure the address was right?

Hi M&R<3,

well, we had similar situation like you did. Maybe the best thing you can do to be persistent.

Our case was received in Chicago lockbox on January 27. and we also didn't received any response from USCIS so what you have to do is to call USCIS and explain your situation. explain that by online postage tracking the package was delivered to them but they didn't contacted you. after all their questions regarding your situation they'll pass your call to the "higher" level unless they are busy (which they usually are so they'll tell to call for hour or two. then you will have to repeat the whole process :S). if your lucky you won't wait long and than they'll ask you your name and other personal details regarding to your i-130. if they received your package they'll give you your receipt number which means that everything is more or less ok.

it's still weird that you haven't herd something from them but it's something =)

No, we did not file G-1145. We thought that's not important.

Yikes. Was the check cashed?

It was a money order from Western Union and yes it was cashed on January 16th.

Thank you for the reply, I thought we were the only couple who had to face this unfortunate incident with USCIS. According to my wife, It has been a headache to call NCS constantly because waiting on the line like that really go beyond my wife's patient limits. We both wish you good luck and may your process go smoothly in future.

Email lockboxsupport@uscis.dhs.gov

Thank You so much. I've sent them an email to get the receipt number (don't know how long they'll take to reply)
