I sponsored my husband for a marriage based green card. We filed on March 17, 2014, had our interview in June, were told that we were approved, and we got the green card itself in late August. It expires on August 2016. Thanks everyone for your help.

What do I need to do next in terms of renewal? Someone said form I-90. But I thought that was just to replace a lost card. What is my timeline and what sort of form should I fill out, and when? Thanks!!

I guess it's conditional. It was only issued for two years, not ten. It was my spouse's first green card. Up until now, he's always been here on various visas.

Your husband has a conditional green card because you have been married for less than 2 years.

Within the 90 days before his conditional green card expires, he must file to lift the condition on his green card.

Removing conditions in a green card is differernt from renewing a green card.

Remember to file the correct form I-751, not I-90!

Someone have filed the wrong form before:
