Hello ever018,

for our K-1, yes, we booked biometrics in Mumbai the morning before the interview. The physical location of the building for biometrics (NVC) is different than the Consulate but close by in the same general area (not across town).

You mentioned you have a June interview, when you selected that date online, did you not get asked to schedule the biometrics appointment as well? For K-1, that is how it was.

Jnsr,

Thanks for posting this!

It answers some of my question but other aspect is still puzzling.

My case is for K-1 Fiance

I have NVC letter and BMB#########, it says ready.

I completed DS-160 yesterday.

I want to go and make fee payment + select biometric/interview dates

BUT I DONT KNOW HOW

I went to ustraveldocs: http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/

I created "New User"

I logged in via that email and pw

Now What???

I clicked on New Appointment Schedule

I selected "Non-Immigrant Visa" as its a K-1 (Step 1)

Step 2 asks me to select state of residency and for Hyderabad there is no option for "India - Telangana" suprisingly so I chose "India - Andhra Pradesh".

It automatically makes my embassy "Post - Hyderabad" and asks for Language of choice (English)

Step 3 asks for Visa Category and Options are (a. Business/Tourist and all others, b) Student and Exchange c) Employment) I dont see an option for K-1 Fiance but when I choose 'a' next step is asking to select from B1 or B2 or B1/B2 ????

ok ok ok

I think i got it while composing and walking throught site

Even though K-1 is a non-immigrant (per USA, it is "Immigrant" per this website and menus, then it give me K-1 option)

Nevermind

Thanks

I went through the same confusion when while filling out all the details over that website and thankfully found the K-1 visa option going back and forth through the options just like you. It is pretty confusing with how they call K-1 a non-immigrant visa but over there it is listed as immigrant visa.

Also could you tell me how much the medical examination costed and when were the reports handed over to you? Because I don't live in Mumbai and I called up Rele Clinic the other day and the person I talked to suggested I get the examination done at least a week before my interview so that if there is any need for follow up tests then they can be done in time for the interview. But that would mean a week's stay at Mumbai for no reason!
And as a child a got the general vaccines like polio, DTP, BCG, tetanus etc and I was planning on getting the remaining shots (HepA, HepB yada yada) once I am in States before my AOS interview. But this person from Rele Clinic said I am going to have to get the shots from their clinic. Did you all have to take your shots at Rele too?

The Medical exam was around Rs 500-600 I believe. It varies depending on vaccines needed. We needed 3-4. One was MMR which has a 2nd shot needed to be taken between 4 weeks-8weeks after initial one. This was done in Mumbai. The only 'follow-up' was to go back the next day to get the medical report, xray, cd. Reports were handed to me. May have been sent to consulate as well, not sure.

Wow that is pretty low. The person from Rele Clinic I talked to said it would be around 5000 to 6000 and we thought we should be ready with around 7 or 8K just in case. Are you sure you did not miss a zero or two?

Hi guys, We have interview at Mumbai in June, I have quick question, do we need to take biometrics only one day before? Also, In Mumbai is biometrics location is same as interview location?

Thanks in advance!

You can take appointment for biometrics whenever you want. Which i assume you must have taken by now.

And the address is different for biometrics but its near to the consulate though.

Appointment for medical exam in Mumbai needs to be scheduled prior or post scheduling for Biometrics for K1 visa?

Do I need interview appointment letter prior to scheduling of medical exam appointment?

Medical exam "can be" scheduled prior to scheduling the biometrics and interview for K1 visa, BUT the Medical exam a) must happen before those AND b) for the day of the Medical Exam, the doctor's office said to bring the confirmed appointment letter/notice else they were not going to conduct the medical exam. NOTE, I said "can be" because we did, but they asked for visa interview date (and inherently the bio date) when we tried scheduling the Medical exam. My advice = schedule the bio and visa interview and then schedule the medical exam.

Hi There,

My wife will also be going to the Rele Clinic soon for her medical interview. We are still at the NVC stage, but my wife had a few questions about the appointment in Mumbai - specifically

- Do female doctors attend to female patients for the medical interview? She was wondering if it is possible to request a female doctor for her appointment.

- She has childhood vaccinations for diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, small pox, plague and polio - any idea on what other vaccinations might be required?

- Do they provide the medical reports typically by the next day?

- Does she need carry any documentation other than the list mentioned at the Rele Clinic website at http://releclinic.com/usa.html ?

Thanks!

Hi all,

I am scheduled to have visa interview in Delhi on 02 December. I logged onto UStraveldocs (http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-iv-visaapply.asp). In step 5, its say "Y ou are almost ready to schedule your visa appointment!" It makes me wonder what is difference between visa interview and visa appointment. Anyone knows?

We lived in Bangalore at the time of DH CR1 interview and yes we spent a week in Mumbai "for no reason" (we ended up visiting friends and family and doing sightseeing). We landed in Mumbai and went straight from the airport to the clinic for the medical exam. It cost us Rs5000 with all the vaccines (they made him take all new vaccines and wouldn't accept his childhood vaccines). This exam and vaccines took a few hours. Then we went to the hotel and had dinner. The next day they called us and told us to collect the documents at 4pm so we went for the biometrics appointment in the morning (it literally took 12 min) and then had lunch and then drove back to the clinic to collect the documents. Then we just wasted time in Mumbai until the day of the interview.

Yes when DH was having his exam there were male Dr for men and female Dr for women

they did not accept any of DH childhood vaccines and he had to get new one administered

they called us the next day in the AM and told us to come collect the reports at 4pm so for us it was slightly over 24hrs from time of exam to reports in hand

DH had to show them his visa appointment letter and they kept a copy of the appointment letter. Everything else listed at the link you shared is accurate

Its been several days since i have been trying to schedule the two appointments necessary , first for biometrics and the second for the interview at the new delhi consulate. Any date i try, it says not available. This happens even if i try dates several weeks away, even a couple of months away. Called their support number...they dont seem to understand why this is happening..one of them suggested that i should log on and try every 2-3 hours!!! The next executive went through the whole thing using my ID and said that he too cannot get any date and asked me to send screenshots and explain my problem . Filled my D-260 on 3rd of jan, next step was to schedule the appointments...over a week later, still struggling. Awaiting reply to an email from them which they said they will reply in 1-2 days. Hope the interview itself is not as difficult as scheduling the appointment for the interview!!!
