Jordan's Foreign Minister Says 'This Is Our War' Against ISIS

Jordan's foreign minister said today his government wants to send the message that America's Arab allies are not pursuing the U.S.'s goals in the battle against ISIS, but instead have their own reasons to battle the group's advance.

"This is our war," Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh [.]

Jordan's aggressive pursuit of military strikes, Judeh said, supports "this idea that we're promoting, that is an Arab fight and it has to have an Arab stamp to it."

"This is not the West's fight and we are joining it," the foreign minister continued.

"When I say Arab stamp, what I'm saying essentially is Arab Muslim stamp," he said, explaining that "this is a fight against people who are distorting our religion."

Crucial to defeating ISIS, therefore, is "the ideological war," Judeh added.

About time the Arab's own this war, because Obama has barely recognized this fight as his illegitimate* stepchild.

Alas, it's no longer Obama's decision alone. There's a new congress on the hill and the ball is in their court. It seem Macconel and Boehner haven't realized ISIS poses a threat to the US. They're much too busy trying to vote down Obamacare for the 66th time they haven't realized the world is turning...

Oh, its because of Congress. Got it. Isn't the President supposed to ask congress for the funds/permission to declare war? IMO that would be highly overkill. Obama should do what he did in Libya and exercise his own power to make sure the Iraq troops have excellent air cover. He has a direct precedent set by several presidents (including himself) acting unilaterally to wage an air campaign. Congress is not any way needed to accomplish what our role should be. Obama will continue down this road as in the past couple weeks and sell it at home in whatever the politically convenient way will be. That's what politicians do.

In that case, Obama is already doing what America should be doing. We are waging an air campaign against ISIS, which means he acted with foresight, which was all the better for us, because we know that neither house is interested in doing much, if anything at all, about the situation.

So do I. ISIS is attacking Muslim countries killing largely Muslim people.

It is their war even though America gave rise to the enemy they're now forced to fight.

I think with Iraq the US and UK lost any semblance of credibility they had, and now with defence budgets being slashed because of the recession there's no will to get embroiled in another protracted war fighting people we don't understand over territory that isn't ours.

Meanwhile Putin steamrollers ahead in Ukraine and the arctic while we sit on the sidelines wondering what the fuq happened.

Osama Bin Laden got exactly the outcome he wanted.

He did, indeed. Now ISIS wants our boys and military resources over there - preferrably creating more civilian collateral damage. At least they think they think they do. I think they miscalculated with the Jordanian pilot they burned - against the literal teaching of the Quran (as I understand) which leaves fire exclusively for God to use as punishment. Either way, they're managing right now to unify much of the Arabian peninsula against them and that - along with their general megalomania - is what's going to do them in. No need for us to get all too involved.

King Badazz is a leader that Jordan will fight for unlike our troops here in the states will ever want to fight anyone for a weak and soft Obama.

I saw a pic of the Queen of Jordan and is it just me or is she not a hot babe?
