Im getting together the final parts for my AOS package and something i dont want to go without is a letter from my wifes company to prove she works there and her salary, i have one dated september 2014 which i used for my k1 interview back in london but would this be too old to use again as 5 months have already passed? shes looked into getting one recently but they have changed the way they do them now so there is a $35 fee for it which is something id like to avoid if possible!

yes, it is too old. $35 is nothing compared to the $1,070 you will have to pay to receive his green card once he is here. Just get another one and you will not have to worry about it.

My letters were 5 months old. I don't actually think that is too old. If by the time your case is adjudicated they are over a year old, the officer can request a new one, but with a sufficient tax return to show income, that would be a very picky officer.
