Has anyone tried asiana airlines?

Their tickets are very cheap.. hmmm.. maybe because of the accident they had years ago in SFO?

I've used before and after the crash. I would use them again. Price was good and the in flight service is great.

Thanks for the inputs.

I am considering Asiana Airlines because of their very low price (half the price of other airlines I am considering - PAL, Cathay, and Korean Air).

I am just surprised (and kinda cautious) why.

Maybe they have an ongoing promo.

The other good thing about Asiana Airlines is that it has only one stopover at Incheon for 10hrs which is an opportunity for us to avail of the free Seoul City tour!

But right now I am still debating over choosing Korean or Asiana.

Asiana is rated 4 stars in Skytrax with over 600 reviews. That's pretty good. I think it depends on timing, i see United/ANA and JAL/American prices go really low and i've flew with them before and never had any issues. Low prices doesn't mean something is wrong, it means a good deal and you better act fast! ?

I find Asiana service to be better than Korean. Korean does have better seats/planes though. Also, I hope you're not leaving soon as Seoul is still pretty cold these days.

Asiana's always been relatively cheaper than other Asian carriers, but their service is still pretty damn good.

JAL with the 15 hour layover in Natita was a good price awhile back ($790 one-way Manila to Chicago).

At first we were skeptical, but then we found the long layover a comfortable break in the travel. We left Manila at 2:55pm, arrived in Japan in the evening and then we were at the hotel 9pm to 8am. JAL has their own hotel close to the airport and it's free with the airplane ticket.

Hank,we have booked our flight now. Do we have to fill out any documents for travel as a philippino national flying to the US? I've heard there are forms needed to bill filed with the airlines 48 hours in advance.

Forms needed for travel to the USA are the visa and the CFO sticker in the passport (only need this to get out of the Phils ;) ), never heard of any other forms.

If you are a Filipino citizen leaving the country then there is one small immigration form at the Philippines airports to fill out. It is short and simple, such as name, address, occupation and flight number.

The airline will give it to you and then you just give it to immigration with your passport. Take a ballpen with you.

Also, upon arrival at the US POE there will be similar very simple short form to fill out with your name, address, flight number and a couple questions if you are carrying food or large amount of money, etc. Those are handed out on the airplane so that you have plenty of time to fill it out before you arrive at POE.

Most airlines have an online checkin 24-48 hours in advance where you can confirm the seats and print boarding passes. I generally do the checkin online, bit then let the airline print my boarding passes at the airport.

Ok, great. I read a post in regards to philippine airline needing an autherization to board. My last trip in January there were a group of sailors flying to new York for work and I was embarrassed at how the United airline personnel treated them also. They kept saying they needed authorization forms. I just didn't want anymore hiccups. So much excitement and didn't want to miss anything. Thank you
