Hi guys, my dad had his medical today. He admitted he use marijuana during his teen years and they advice him to have a psychiatry test. He was afraid that he will be denied by the US embassy. Anyone have any experience on this matter? thanks...

Hi,

You said psychiatry test? Was he referred to another clinic/doctor for psychological evaluation? The most that your situation can bring is 2 to 4 weeks of further evaluation, if he will be cleared, then it will not be a reason for denial... :)

Cheers!

Yeah, its psychiatric evaluation sorry for typo mistake. He said he used when he was 16-17 years old about once a month or during parties. That like 40 years ago.

Negative

It will depend what happens at the evalution and what is reported to CO

This is the upside down and backward world called the Philippines, where you have to go to psychiatric evaluation if you had an annulment.

It is a simple chit-chat with a shrink, he signs off and life moves on... couple hours.
