It will be very hard. And the police report from Germany will have to be translated to English or the language of the country in this case french, or creole. Check with the embassy because I don't think you will be able to have your interview in Haiti. You original birth certificate will be the thing that give you the Haitian passport. were you born in Haiti. It sounds complicated. And also the doctor would give you the right vaccinations in Haiti. Make sure you have all your records translated from Germany.

Oh no I'm very concerned now ? I was not born in Haiti but I was told that I could get the passport since my dad was born in Haiti. Not sure if this is true tho. And I would even have to translate my vaccinations records to the doctors language? ? In This case creole ..

Creole or french yes. Because they have to record it. Please make sure that you are 100% sure what was told to you can be done. It will be hard to get a passport stating you are the citizen of a country that you was not born in. You would have to get

Dual citizenship for that.... please double check

I thought everything needed to be translated into English since the embassy is American. For sure the birth certificate and police certificate but not as sure for medical records and Haiti.

In Ghana we had to use one of the two clinics required by the American embassy where the records were in English. But there are so many tribal languages in Ghana that English is the unofficial language and my husbands schools taught him in English. Proper English, not American English.

YMMV

Depends on the country, Germany, for example, accepts records in either German or Englisch at the embassy. Possibily, Haiti does accept Englisch and whatever the local official language is.

I agree SarinaB. I read your entire other thread before but getting to America on a K-1 from Haiti won't be as easy as Germany. Germany is basically a no-fraud country. Haiti is a high-fraud country. That alone will make the path harder for you. As well as all the other complications, like documents & what not.

Yeah, Marco&Bettina couldn't have phrased it any better. I also remember that you said on your other, older thread about moving that you had dual citizenship and so I told you that if you had that, then you could get a passport and prove citizenship/residency very easily, but that the Haitian embassy wouldn't interview you if you only went there based on a temporary tourist visa. But apparently, you don't have dual citizenship (yet).

This is a whole different and complicated problem now. I really suggest you do a thorough research on your possibility to acquire Haitian citizenship in the week that you have left there in Germany. Worst case scenario: you'd have to go back to Germany to do the interview and the move to Haiti would prove an even more severe financial hardship on you than the current situation you were talking about in your other thread.

Also, try to have your German legal documents translated into English for the interview (birth certificate can be obtained in an international form for 10€ though). Your German yellow vaccination record booklet (Impfpass) has translations in English (in a small font) for all categories.

I read your previous thread and I had hoped you wouldn't chose this path.

You seem to think you will gain automatic status because your dad was born there?

If it was that simple I'm sure so many people could do that in many countries.

But a parent being born in a different country when you were born in another does not give you any rights to that country.

I really believe you need to stop and think for a minute.

You need to research the laws and look at the differences in the two countries and realise you have a better chance and an easier chance by staying in Germany.

You seem to be making this way too complicated and many people have pointed that out to you.

Stay in Germany, find a job to pas the time that enables you to save up and live.

And concentrate on the end result.

Ps. As for you thinking you can get a passport for Haiti. I think that as for many countries this could be true as a minor.

Because you have to rely on your family.

But you are an adult now. You don't get the same opportunities as a child.

I know it's wiki but this might shed some light.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haitian_nationality_law

"Haitian citizenship media

Standing descent

A person born in Haiti does not automatically receive citizenship. A child, regardless of where they are born, is considered Haitian if either their mother or father is a native-born citizen of Haiti.

Standing naturalization

Naturalization is possible, yet can only be obtained after a continuous period of Haitian residence for five years. A naturalized citizen has the right to vote, but is not eligible to hold public office until five years after their date of naturalization, excluding those offices reserved for native-born Haitians by Constitutional law.

Dual citizenship

In recent years, there has been discussion about a constitutional amendment to change Haiti's stance against dual nationality; yet while feelings have begun to lean towards acceptance of dual citizenship, policy has yet to change. Legally, the 1987 constitution still stands, which states, "Dual Haitian and foreign nationality is in no case permitted." [40] The constitution also automatically negates Haitian citizenship with the acquisition of foreign citizenship, which strongly affects today's Haitian Diaspora. However, there is an exception.[41] A child with Haitian parents born outside of Haiti may dually acquire the citizenship of their birth country. At the age of eighteen, the child must renounce one of their nationalities."

I totally agree ? you guys are right. I don't know what got into me but I feel so lost with this whole process. I really did need to stop and think and maybe it is better if I just visit my dad In haiti for a couple of weeks and then return back to germany. Everything is going to be much easier from here.

I think it'll just be easier on you.

And I really do wish you the best with your journey and that your noa2 comes soon.
