Congrats!!!

I guess California must be working much faster than Nebraska. I applied in September, and have heard NOTHING!!!!

Hi There,

I too will be in a similar situation in a few months and I was just wondering about how not getting the permanent card in 3 months affects your work status.

For e.g. in your case it seems that your conditional green card would have expired in Dec. 2006. Since you have not yet got your permanent green card does that mean you cannot work till you get it? Do you get a temporary work permit while you are waiting?

Waiting anxiously for your reply or anybody elses reply.

After you send in your I-751 application, you get an NOA that extends your GC for one year, with work and travel authorization as well. So, in most cases, before that year expires, your 10-year GC is received. If not, you have to go to your local USCIS office to get a I-551 stamp in your passport. If you leave the U.S., you need to show the NOA upon your return to the U.S. to prove you are not out of status.
