That is the correct phone number. Your husband needs to hang up and redial immediately until he gets through. I can sometimes take up to 75 redials before getting through.

Also, what Romet is referring to regarding working on January dates, is pertaining to K1 Visa interviews.

Hi nernag, it's still working for me. Nothing will change on CEAC again til you have an interview date and your file is shipped to the Embassy. A few days after my interview letter it changed to IN TRANSIT and then a few days later changed to READY with a message that it's in Cairo.

i had a really weird incident today and i would appreciate if someone could help me. I called the NVC to check in the status and that lady told me that my case was denied and i will have to call the embassy to get more info. I was so panicked. I called them again three times and everyone of the staff that answered me told me that it is still under AP and not refused. Last agent told me that she might have told me that because the consulor didnt give my fiance the visa on spot (which means refusal) and the consular put the case under 221g AP .

What is 221g AP? is that the standard AP? what should i do now?

Thanks Everyone

Hi mero.lola,

Did you in fact GET a 221g at your interview? That is a type of "refusal/denial" form from my understanding. But also, it doesn't mean you've been totally denied. Some people get them because they need FURTHER information to prove they're a bona fide couple. At your interview did they say anything regarding your the form or what your status was? Often times, they won't have a lot of information for you until it gets returned to the US and gets whatever processing done here that needs. Then they'll send a letter.

For K1 filers even if you're approved at the interview, you go into AP until your K1 visa is actually issued. AP is just "administrative processing" and during this time they do whatever "processing" needs to be done at that time. Sometimes that's verifying that information submitted in your interview is correct. Or just putting your actually visa through. And unfortunately, there's NO TIME "limit" to how long it could be there... :(

I've never heard of people getting visas ON THE SPOT in Egypt (or many other countries). That just doesn't happen often. Even here in America, getting official government documents takes time to process and receive.

It TOTALLY sucks that these processes don't give MORE information so there isn't any misunderstandings. They would probably eliminate MANY calls/emails inquiring what exactly this information means. It's a TERRIBLE system.

Also, another route you can try is go through your US congressman and/or senator and see if they can help you get any further information.

Good luck and fingers crossed for you... :) :)

Our lovely journey!!

I just noticed that when I check the NVC site for the status, it says last update is today 4/23. But, we haven't received any email or phone call for an onterview! Does that update means anything at all?
