So, before I pull my hair out, can anyone tell me, how long does it normally take the embassy to post the documents status on the dashboard/ profile? should I keep waiting or keep emailing them? I don't want to piss anyone off and have our case thrown into the nearest trash can! Haha

As far as I know it takes about 3 months unless you get lucky. I have sent 10s of emails to them but nothing has happend. I even reached out to the congressman and the senator but they couldn't help either. All you have to do is to wait and pray. I have sent my package on Dec. 30th and I'm still waiting FYI.

Oh My! That is a very long time. I think they don't want anyone to break their record of the longest processing time. so, it still doesn't show that your documents have been received? I see two people saying that it has changed within 2 days. I guess the lucky one you are talking about! Ha

Lol no, I meant 3 months for the interview date. Mine was received within 2 days too! The lucky ones are who just started the case in July 2014 and now they have their hubby in US already lol. I don't know how it works but I have seen cases much faster than others. Mine considered from the pretty slow side! I check my emails every an hour. I wake up in middle of night just to look at it.

The issue is you don't know what is the time frame so you can be prepared and the bad thing is I have heard some folks applied for K1 visa and they were declined just because they didn't have enough evidence or becUse the counselor didn't believe that they are not married yet or they would leave egypt without getting married first...Nightmare!

Hello Cairo Embassy/Consulate,
I am writing to inquire about my interview and to see if I could get a status as to what month of applications you are currently working on?
I look forward to hearing from you.

They called Tuesday (actually she was pretty nice) and said they have our file and they are working on November cases right now. She wouldn't/couldn't say when our case would get the interview.
A VJ friend on (K1 petitioner) who submitted his Packet 3 at the end of November and was called last Thursday for an interview on Monday (this week)!! I didn't even realize they would/could give you only a few days from when they call for your interview. Crazy.
We were always advised not to do the medical until you they call and you receive the interview date but it wouldn't be cool if you only have a few days for the medical and won't have it with you when you actually go to the interview and will automatically get into AP.
We don't anticipate getting the interview until late March early April. :(

10/08/2015: AOS packet sent to USCIS (Chicago lockbox) via USPS Priority mail (They received it 10/10/15).

10/16/2015: Text/eEmails received from USCIS with receipt number. We received 3.

10/22/2015: Received hard copies of NOA's for I-131, I-765, & I-485.

11/01/2015: Got NOA for biometrics appt (for 11/12/15).

11/03/2015: Did WALK IN biometrics appt - took 15 mins. Person taking said work permit should be in mail in less than 4 wks.

12/09/2015: Got email/text notification for INTERVIEW date.

12/28/2015: Got email/text notification EAD card has been mailed.

12/31/2015: Received EAD/AP card.

01/11/2016: INTERVIEW (in Los Angeles office).

01/11/2016: Case in in "CONTINUANCE". Awaiting approval. (Feels like AP).

06/27/2016: I-485 APPROVED - (FINALLY!!!) / 264 DAYS (8 MONTHS 20 DAYS)

07/01/2016: GREEN CARD RECEIVED

Yeah as you can see they gave me only 4 days! not enough for anything and I'll have to send the medical results later after the interview through Aramex.

and yes I sent my papers through Aramex November 30th the status changed December 2nd so I think that was the date they received my papers, I'm not sure which month they working on right now but you can email them they usually response in 24 hours.

Hiii...how was your interview? I hope everything went well....I have a quick question for you, how did they send packet 4? Was it a phone call? Or a letter by mail to your address or was it an email ?

With the interview schedule on the website being down a month and not seeing any IR1/CR1 visa CC dates after 12/29 get scheduled for interviews, now this, I am starting to have sever anxiety...

I don't know how much more I can handle!


Does anyone have any updates except this lol?

My case was updated on Monday on the NVC website but nothing has been changed.

I am so so so angry about this. It's not like Cairo is the only embassy in MENA, and it's an embassy that already struggles with the caseload it has.
