Cairo folks waiting for interview

Sorry to hear that and I hope everything works out for the best

I am no expert but I remember reading on this thread that someone else had asked the embassy if they could reschedule and while you can you pretty much get put in the back of the line. Meaning waiting again 2-3-4 months

Could be wrong but just sharing

There isn't anyone who could help just a few hours for her to attend the interview?

Because keep I mind there is some waiting after the interview as well for the passport to be returned and she wouldn't have to travel right away. From what I understand the visa is valid for about three months

I don't think this will be helpful and you may already know this

Sorry

Thank you so much for the reply, that is very helpful. Right now it is just so stressful I can't think properly.

The issue is not her attending the interview, it is that if she gets the visa and she would have to leave within a short amount of time, she would not be able to go and then maybe her visa would expire. I did not know that it is valid for 3 months, that is very good to know. While the thought of waiting 2-4 more months is devastating, I would prefer that to her not coming at all obviously. Do you know if it is a possibility at all to ask for more time if she gets the visa and 3 months later she is still not able to leave?

Again, thank you.

Starting in July 2015, applicants for all categories of Immigrant Visas, including Immediate Relatives (IR) Non-Preference Family, Fiance's (K visas) and Diversity Visa Lottery winners will be able to interview and process their visas in Khartoum, Sudan!

Hopefully this will remove some of the backlog for both countries!

Hi all, I need help with something. When my wife had her interview at the US embassy they took all original documents from her and returned basically everything I submitted before (which were copies of all documents) is that normal? Do they keep the original documents you give them during the interview? and return the documents we submit to the NVC? any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks..

hello VJ members who is Dealing with Cairo embassy

i had a loooooong journey with Texas service center lasted over 6 month 185 says, i was always saying Texas the nightmare, but i think i will be in another nightmare with cairo embassy :(
now i am in the state waiting for my papers to be send to NVC, i am planning to prepare packet 3 so i can send it as soon as possible

First congratulations to everyone had their approvals and their visas

i am sooo sorry for the people went through AP for long time maybe until now, i pray to never be in this situation

i read this thread from page one to the last, seems like it took from 1 to 3 months for the interview
and when someone approved it takes about a month or so until receiving the visa ( i am talking about k1 visa)

i am the beneficiary from Egypt, so worry about my interview, because of what i hear about the consulate here

i thought about something it sounds strange but someone here mentioned is to have the interview in another country, but he mentioned he is a resident in UAE
i thought the same idea but i don't have any other residency , i just was thinking go to another country under visitor visa, but i think it is so hard to do this

i truly wish here everyone a peaceful journey and visa in hand at the end for all of us, it is not an east process, need so much patience and faith and believe that everything will happen in the right time which is God's time

i pray the backlog that happening in Egypt to end soon!

Hello to all
i just got that email from NVC 4 days ago

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

i am sure most of you here already got this one .. the thing is sent all documents long time ago i dont even remember when but after few checklists we can say that NVC took 58 days to review documents and send saying its completed and will be scheduled, from what i see here the expecting date to get an interview is too long time .. if any one know how much we should wait we will be thankful
also i see guys here know when their packages left NVC and arrived to the embassy i have no clue how u know that !!
