Mohamed31 (who's also a K1 filer on this thread) got the same email. This is the PACKET 3. Because the post (snail mail) is not that great in Egypt, the consulate sends things via email or they call you (your fiance[e]'s) phone number that is on the petition.

Once you get this email, your fiance will have to put together the listed items and send all the requested documents to the consulate via Aramex. Send your fiance your notarized I-134 form NOW so he can get it as soon as possible (I sent it Fedex to my fiance and it cost me almost $80) :(. Again, the interview "countdown" for us (K1 filers) starts once THEY receive all the required items listed (that are applicable) from your fiance. If you know your case is in transit or already there, you should have your fiance start getting together the above items so once you get the email, he can send it back right away.

According to your timeline, your case has left the American NVC and should be there in Egypt. If you have your CASE NUMBER you can check the status of your application. If your file hasn't gotten to the embassy yet, it will say "IN TRANSIT". If it's already gotten to the embassy it will say "READY". From my understanding, from the "READY" point, it will only change to AP or ISSUED (after your interview).

After you send in your packet 3, you'll await the packet 4 (interview information). From my understanding, Egypt's "Packet 4" is a phone call (the embassy will call and give your fiance their interview date). As I've noted before, it's looking like the K1 filers interviews are taking between 2 to 3 months AFTER they receive your packet 3.

I hope this reads okay for you. I know it's an earful/eyeful.

Hopefully this helps a little with what to expect in the process.

I got this email too. My question is what is the fee for and how do i pay it? What address do i send it to? And how are they going to contact me through email?

We are still waiting and my patience seems to be running very thin. I contacted my Representatives Office and they inquired about our case with the Consular at the Embassy in Cairo.

My Representative said that they are backlogged (no mention of any technical issues with issuing visas as the site has been saying) . They told my Rep that he (my fiancé) should have an interview in August......so if my fiancé hasn't heard anything by 2nd week of July that they will contact the Consular/Embassy again.

Hi everyone,

My husband arrived to Washington Dulles POE on Tuesday, June 23rd. The lines were super long and although the TSA and Customs people appeared to be treating everyone not so nicely, they treated my husband very kindly and gave him a "Welcome, Buddy!" when he went through. I am so happy he's here and now we're beginning our life together.

The process sucks so much and tests your patience, but when you finally see your loved one in the airport--jetlagged though they may be--you know it's worth it. Good luck everyone!
