Hey folks , i am a new here ... i wanted to stop by and let you know that i had my interview couple of days ago ( cr1 ) ..Elhamd lellah it went good ( lot of random questions ) and i got the approval letter at the end of it , now we are waiting to get my passport in hand .

My wife and I wish you all a speedy process , the whole process took us about 14 months because of a check list !!!! its just a matter of time guys .. so No worries !!!

During the interview i had that feeling that they already made their decision before i got there !!!

does anyone here know how long it takes to get the passport back ??

Congratulations and welcome to the thread! You certainly are asking the question of the day. So many of us are waiting with approvals to have our passports sent back to us. The best thing to do is keep checking ceac.state.gov with your NVC case number to check its progress. Good luck!

Your visa has been printed. Depending on local procedures at the location where you were interviewed, your visa will be mailed or available for pickup soon. If there are further questions, or if we need updated contact information, you will be contacted.

So that means our Case is complete and we just waiting on the interview date to be set then>>>I hope that is what I'm understanding

Hi JennyDode2014,

Please note that K1 visa processing and CR1 visa processing are a bit different. On the K1 visa side, we don't usually do a "case complete". They're check off list is a bit different than ours.

However, like Smelserjl said, READY means the NVC has issued a case number (for K1 users) and have gone through the final process in the USA. According to your timeline, you've already sent in the packet 3 and now you're awaiting the packet 4 (the email or call for your interview date). It's looking like that is taking about 30 to 60 days to get now (or about). If you haven't received anything in about 30 days, I would start writing the embassy and asking where they are in the "line" of interview scheduling. They may give you the general email, but keep trying once a week after that.

12/28/2015: Got email/text notification EAD card has been mailed.

12/31/2015: Received EAD/AP card.

01/11/2016: INTERVIEW (in Los Angeles office).

01/11/2016: Case in in "CONTINUANCE". Awaiting approval. (Feels like AP).

06/27/2016: I-485 APPROVED - (FINALLY!!!) / 264 DAYS (8 MONTHS 20 DAYS)

07/01/2016: GREEN CARD RECEIVED

Finance got visa/passport today!!!! He just picked it up! Looks like the "line" is finally moving!!

My husband got the text notification and he's going to pick up his passport! I am so incredibly happy. I feel like crying, but I'm at work hahaha. Thank you VJ people! We could NOT have done this without you. And I hope you all get yours so soon. Inshallah!

My husband said the CO was kind of intimidating at first as she visually examined him from head to toe and held a very serious face for the first couple minutes. He did say after the first couple of questions, she finally lightened up a bit. Insha'Allah, for those that have upcoming interviews, it will be just as painless.

Thank you! I still feel like I am in shock. Congrats to you as well! Six days to visa in hand is fabulous! Insha'Allah we are as lucky. I would love for my hubby to be here before we get too far into Ramadan.
