Congratulations!

Thanks!

Any updates on your visa? I saw this on the USTravelDocs site

"“The U.S. Embassy in Cairo is currently experiencing technical problems with our visa system. Due to these technical problems, we are unable to issue immigrant and non-immigrant visas. We are still able to intake new immigrant and non-immigrant visa applications but may not be able to process them all to conclusion on our regular processing schedule. We apologize to applicants who are experiencing delays in processing of their visa applications. We are working urgently to correct the problem and expect our system to be fully operational again soon.”"

Is this only for people just applied or includes us, waiting?

We saw it this morning too, it's for everyone. After they told him 2 weeks my husband booked his flight for the 9th. He's cancelled his flight.

Oh no :( That's messed up and ridiculous. I hope they get that done ASAP. Did he try calling since it's been more than 2 weeks and see if there's any additional info? It makes me wonder if it's just extended AP and they're calling it a visa processing issue.

We're calling, we're emailing, all they are saying is "we'll give it to him when it's ready". Since Tuesday they aren't even answering our emails anymore.

Praise God, my husband's interview was today at 7:30AM and our case was accepted! He got a paper saying it would take 2 weeks but possibly more to get the visa and if it takes longer than 2 weeks, he should call a phone number. I asked him to scan or take a pic of the paper so I can take a look.

We'll write up a review of the Embassy this weekend but basically he said the interview lasted less than 5 minutes. He said the CO who conducted the interview was the same woman who stamped our marriage affidavit in the Embassy the day we got married last year. She asked about 3 questions: how did you meet, tell me about her family, and where did you get married.

I am elated. I was anxious and crying off and on yesterday because I was so worried.

Without VJ and this community, we couldn't have done it. We were overprepared with papers and forms and copies, but better to have more than needed than not enough.

He said it definitely seemed like she had already made a decision really before he even spoke. I can't stress enough how important creating your relationship story can be. I made a timeline in a Word doc and put important dates including every visit I ever made to him (5 in Egypt, and we met in Jordan once), screen captures of important moments on Facebook including discussions with family members, pictures during trips, etc.

You have to have the story to be convincing, thus leaving yourself with very basic questions like we had.

Good luck everyone, Will keep you posted when visa is in hand.

That's good to know! I wonder if visa processing differs between K-1 and CR-1. I hope it arrives soon for you both :)

Hi Evwryone,

Anyone has received his/her visa recently since it was approved? We've been waiting for about 67 days since the interview. They are holding her passport since then.

First congrats to you :)

I tried to call them and email them many times. They just have the same answer everytime, that it is still under administrative processing. It is very frustrating now and I'm not sure if I'm the only one that's why I'm asking.

how you didn't receive the passport until now its really weird did you try to contact the numbers on ustraveldocs ?

its really sad try to track the passport here http://www.ustraveldocs.com/eg/eg-niv-passporttrack.asp.. i don't know how they do this after all that waiting and the site said that if there is no pick up after two weeks from aramex the passport will get back to the embassy so its good thing that you called and i hope they call you soon inshaa allah

Hi everyone,

Our case changed to "Administrative Processing" on CEAC. I understand everyone goes through these processes but I thought we only went through it with 221(g).
