This might be of interest to some folks. I asked about changing the interview date, and got this response this morning from the Embassy.

"If you want to reschedule your husband interview, you need to contact us after his interview date to reschedule, but it will take about 3 to 4 months to take another appointment.

Regards,

Consular Staff"

WOOOOW..... :( That's terrible of them. So, you get put in the back of the line if you want to reschedule? That's awful.

Wasn't there someone on here that wanted to change as well... Do you think you guys could SWITCH dates? (Post #199) Maybe if you both send an email asking they might do it?

I doubt they would be willing to work with us, that would require too much work on their part.

I really need to vent for a moment. I don't mean to sound rude, or ungrateful, but I am starting to feel quite angry as a see more people with CC a whole month after mine, getting interview dates for a week before mine. I am so happy that so many of my brother's and sister's are finally getting interviews, but I sat through a 63 day review period for my documents and then sat in hell for another 11 weeks waiting for an interview date. This is total and utter nonsense!!! I am so beyond furious! I wish I was in the US right now, I'd call the NVC to give them an earful. I think tomorrow I will call the embassy. I am beyond sick by this process.

Okay, I'm done venting. Carry on everyone. Thanks for listening.

I know what you mean. I know especially since we got a CC after you and have the interview before you ;) I did email the Embassy and ask about switching dates with you (I said "I know someone..."), so we will see.

I know the process is frustrating, but I have to say you are incredibly blessed to be at this stage. We started the process in May 2014 and we are just now getting to the interview. God knows how long the AP will take.

All you can do is focus on the fact that you are near the end.

PS--Download Magic Jack. You get an American number and you can call the NVC. I called them several times from Cairo :)

The reason I am so angry is because we were expedited at USCIS because of my grandfather being so ill, we have been stuck at NVC for ever despite not receiving any checklists. All of my expedite requests have been denied by the embassy despite my grandfathers ailing health and that it costs me $300 a day to pay someone to care for him when I am at work. I was assured that when I did finally get an interview, it would be the earliest possible interview and that people are given dates in order of CC. This is obviously not the case. While a week might not seem like a big deal, but when you only have so much money saved, and that money is depleting quickly, it's a huge deal.

Hi Nernag,

I believe they want CURRENT financial information. It would probably be wise to prepare or try to get your co-sponsor now so it's done when you're ready for your interview. When you applied, if your husband's tax records were 2013, they may ask you for 2014 tax information (since April 15 is the deadline in the U.S. to file taxes).

Please note, we're doing the K1 visa, but I believe the guideline is the same. For my fiance's interview, he took my current 2014 tax returns, current letter from my employer verifying employment and salary, check stubs (last 3), and I believe even current bank statements (can't remember about the bank statements, but we sent them originally).

Always with these interviews, expect the worst and hope for the best.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Did you ever get a response from the embassy in regards to trading dates? They responded to my husband saying their policy does not allow for trading dates. They then basically told him you get what you get, take it or leave it, the choice is yours. They were less than empathetic, not surprising.

Oddly enough I never received a response. Thankfully the interviews are just around the corner.
