When did you find out about your date? Did you already receive an email with all the details? We didn't get ours yet. You emailed the consularcairoiv@state.gov email address? I emailed them yesterday but I didnt get a response (I know, Friday is the weekend there). Let me know..I wonder if it would be weird to ask to switch with a specific person haha

We got our date by phone May 4 and the email came on the 8th I think. We emailed as soon as our case showed ready, I think that was the 12th. They responded within an hour. Very rare. It would be awesome to switch. Lol

Ah ok, we found out by phone yesterday but we didn't get the email yet. CEAC is still saying our case is at the NVC. I'm not sure if it's worth calling about since the Embassy's site says they don't schedule interviews over the phone, but we're gonna see if they respond anyway...

Hi JennyDode2014,

I'm not exactly sure how long it takes for the embassy to receive the docs, but I think I remember my fiance saying it was only a few days.

As far as the scheduling of the interview, it SEEMS like it's been taking 2 to 3 months to get an interview. I say seems because I honestly don't know the exact amount of time it takes. We would inquire and ask where about (date) they were processing at this time. Some would tell you where they were, some wouldn't. You have to keep trying. Overall, it took a little over 3 months for my fiance to get his appointment.

But a few other VJ folks it only took about 2 months. I would say prepare for about a 3 month wait and if/when it comes sooner... that's a great thing. Heck, you never know, it could come in a few weeks after.

As always, best of luck with everything...

Hi everyone! Usually how long before the interview do you receive notice of the actual interview? I called last week and heard from the NVC about it, but I didnt receive any notice yet and its on June 4th. Should I receive an email or snail mail?

Email them and tell them you haven't received any documents and ask if you're supposed to bring anything to the interview. They usually get back pretty quickly.
