Hi Ya Kez...

Hope I am not too late here...

Go to the health food store and get some Black Cohosh, Wild Yam and Evening Primrose tea. Use the three together. No side effects or contraindications.

I have heard good things about Estroven through some of my patients-however- make sure no one (male or female) in your family has any thyroid issues. If there just so happens to be a thryoid issue that runs anywhere in your family history, you could triggering a thyroid issue in yourself by using a soy based product.

Good luck !

Oh now I am worried.... I had tests done about 8 months ago to check for menopause and also to check if I am likely to have thyroid issues in the future as every female in my family has under active thyroid... both the test I had done showed that I was indeed getting menopausal symptoms and yes there was a high likelyhood of me developing thyroid problems in the future...

I went and bought the Estroven last night and have already taken it today.... I think I should phone my Doctor.... maybe there is nothiong I can take.... it did not say anything on the Estroven box or their website about it causing thyroid problem...

Why oh why do we have to endure this...

I think it took my mum something like 10 years to go through menopause- and how she HATED those hot flushes. She still gets them occasionally- and she's 60 now...

There's a couple of things that helped her:

- sage tea, hot or cold, all the time.

- food: cucumbers, soybeans, lentils, beans, peas, cabbage, garlic, apples, cherries, carrots.

She couldn't take hormones, because of her thyroid glance, but ended up going to a homeopathist (sp?) who helped her A LOT!

Also, working out helped and reduced her hot flashes...

short history:

2001 - met in Germany

April 2003 - fell in love

Aug 2004 - go to the US for internship

Feb 2005 - both return to Germany

Aug 2006 - getting married

DCF timeline:

09/01/2006 - filed the petition in Frankfurt

09/06/2006 - medical in Frankfurt

09/26/2006 - faxed checklist

10/05/2006 - received interview invite

11/01/2006 - INTERVIEW in Frankfurt - approved!

11/04/2006 - VISA IN HAND!!

12/21/2006 - POE San Francisco and ON TO SEA!

Oh Kez....I didn't mean to worry you so much ! :o

You're fine with just taking it once !

No need to phone your doc-just don't take it anymore. One dosage won't be a problem at all. It takes time to build up in the system-I'd say about 6 weeks of continuous dosing. No need to worry- You're fine.

Although I haven't developed any symptoms yet, we also have thyroid stuff in my family, and as much as I love tofu, edamame, and soy milk-I use them sparingly.

If I have a patient who come in with menopausal symptoms, I recommend the combo that I told you about, just to be on the safe side. I'd also recommend acupuncture as well...

Being a woman has it's perks, but I am of the opinion that nature is quite cruel to us-first we must endure all sorts of hell monthly, then we have this to look forward to ! Yippppeeee !!!

Good luck finding the stuff-you can get it on line if you cannot get it locally. : )

Panic attacks? I though it was just me !!! LOL

I can assure you that fudge is a very good cure for that  Graham has noticed the "tell tale" signs and heads out to the confectioners like clockwork ! He calls it his "get out of jail free card".

For perimenospausal symptoms-go with a Dong Quai root and Damiana combo. 2 seperate herbs-haven't been able to find them together, so I have bought them seperately. They cut down on the overall female hell which we all endure, and has really nice fringe benefits in the bedroom. ;)

I have an underactive thyroid and my doctor told me to becareful with herbs ect as they may interfere with my thyroid medication. She did suggest soy tho.

October 31, 2016 I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox

November 4, 2016 Received text case sent to Nebraska

November 10, 2016 Received Hard copy of NOA1

I spoke to my doctor on the phone and I told her about the Estroven tables and the info given about soy and a history of thyroid problems in my family....

She has told me that there is no proven link between taking soy products and increesing your risk of thyroid problems.... she also said not to go buy the herbs and mix them myself (as this can be very dangerous) but to use the tablets that I have bought... they have a good reputation for helping many women and not to worry about the issue of soy... She will continue to monitor my thyroid on a 6 monthly basis because of the family link and no other reason...

So I am going to take the Estroven and see if it helps me.... thank you all for your sugestions.. they have been very helpful..
